Kind of ominous to see Franklin sitting on the roof's edge of the Baxter Building I'm glad to see Pete as the one who shows up in this epilogue to this. Maybe he'll take Franklin by the Statue of Liberty. That's the spot where the Torch and Spider-Man use to sit to shoot the breeze sometimes or talk about their problems.

Hickman is quite the writer, huh?

He's definitely got a point to the kids being the core of the FF thing. The entire Three arc has had some really great down to earth emotional moments. Hickman is good at that too. I expect this issue to be quite sad.

    Default I love this!

I love this not only because of Peter's history with Johnny but also because now Franklin and Peter have both lost uncles who were very dear to them. Peter knows exactly how Franklin feels and is probably the best person to console him right now.

Heh.... Pete's a real stand up act...
All stories are imaginary, so you get to decide what's important and what isn't. Continuity is fluid.

I have never been more excited about Fantastic Four since the John Bryne era. Good stuff Hickman, and this one will surely hit home to readers.

Kid allowed to sit on edge of rooftop, unsupervised, despite danger of falling or being killed by any of many, many FF enemies...
Kid picked up and carried away by masked man...
Kid allowed to swing hundreds of feet above the ground...

    Nobody finds this alarming?

so this changes to FF for one year and then we go back to original numbering for number 600?

Me too. That would be perfect. I'd love to see a Franklin/Spidey relationship born out of this.

Kid can rupture time and destroy all of New York, if not the world, and they let him outside.

Come on, that's a little like trolling.

I was thinking that, until I realize that Johnny's already on fire, I mean what can Mephisto do to make thing worse ?

Still it was a nice preview in showing Spider-man as an understanding person who knows what Franklin has been through.

And this just brings up the question...... why doesn't he just rupture time and pop Torch back on earth?

Since there are no enemies of the FF that can harm the kid now that he has his powers back, and little things like gravity are trivial to him I don't see the problem.

The same answer as whyy he just didn't destroy the wave, the writer didn't want him to. Logically with Franklin there the wave was not a threat
