quality book! worth checking out if you haven't!
The Green Hornet: Year One was one of my favorite comic books of the year, seriously, this book was so damn good and I'm glad to say that it was my first exposure to the character and it's let me to pick up pretty much all of the Green Hornet titles from Dynamite.
First of all, I don't know how well this article talking about issue #12 should have been published now when the next comic coming out is issue #8. And with the lateness factor already done on this book, it'll be a while till #12 comes out.
Second, I would have checked with Wagner (even just at the end as a final question) if he's doing anymore Zorro for Dynamite since that series just vanished on a cliffhanger.
Sorry to see this series come to an end (though not surprised). It was definitely one of the better books on the stands; Wagner can tell a story.
Just publish the damn book! This book is so far behind (Dynamite has solicited through #12, but hasn't even shipped #8, yet! This is getting to be as bad as Lone Ranger, another Dynamite book!)
Also, reading through the article, I don't really get the impression that the book is ending, just the closing I'd the 2nd story arc.
Ah crap, this is one of my favorite series. Any chance on 'Green Hornet Year Two'?
Guys, Wagner said in the article Jai Nitz is taking over the book after #12.
Granted, we'll see if the title actually changes to Year Two or not.
Just in case anyone was wondering, issue 8 is coming out February 16th.
I have to be honest, I'm really apprehensive about this series getting a new writer. I've grown really attached to Year One and I don't know if I can bear to see it decline in quality after such a fantastic introduction. I suppose I'll have to track down Kato: Origins and see for myself what kind of writing chops this new guy has.
If Jai Nitz is taking over, then the book will be in good hands. His work on 'Kato Origins' has been excellent. The latest issue was really, really interesting -- good use of historical setting coupled with strong characterization.
I'm pleased by that news.![]()
I agree great comic!
I am glad in view of the lags of publication that I jumped off this one at #6 and decided to follow it as a trade.I did follow all 20 issues of Zorro however and hope Wagner or someone picks it up again but only when Dynamite is ready to do it justice and not let it get lost in the deluge of new projects. I was worried that many projects would suffer with the release of too many Hornet projects( Robocop is a good example)and ironically it came true for the Hornet titles as well. However once done, the Hornet titles are still a quantum leap over much of what else is out there from most other companies.
However, to add to the pile we now have the launch of a second Warlord of Mars title?
