CBR: Marvel Unleashes "Herc" In April

Marvel has announced that Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente will follow up "Chaos War" with an all-new series starring the Prince of Power. "Herc," featuring art by Neil Edwards, faces off against "Fear Itself" in April.

Pass. Meh on Herc solo book. And yeah, the new costume is fugly as sin. His current costume was fine.

Now he looks like a lame reject from the horrible 90's. Just needs some shoulderpads to go with that hot mess.

Hell, he's technically already got one with that Lion Head on his left shoulder. Mismatched shoulder pieces. Even more 90's!

The picture with Herc in the rain, in the alley rocking his old school look is all kinds of nice. The ones where he's wearing Green Arrow's castoffs, not so much. That costume is booty. He looks like he works for the NYC Parks Department.

The new costume could be worse, and at least one of the new images has him in the classic get-up. Not thrilled with the lion shoulderpad and the pouches - he looks like a cross between Green Arrow and an overaged club kid - but I don't think it's as bad as most of his 90s abominations. At least they let him keep the beard...

I hope its good, but sounds like a temporary thing, which sorta just makes me thing inconsequential really. So I hope it really delivers, because I sorta like reading Hercules, because he is this big mythic Beast of a God. He tows islands and topples giants, eh... I don't read him to read a Greek Captain America.

lol, that guy from the costume thread should be happy, but I miss his old look already, this new one...

I'll wait and will definitely give it a try, but my hopes and expectations will be low. Also "bothered" that he sounds alone in this, but why? he has friends and buddies in the MU, why isn't Thor or Avengers helping him out? Is this a Wonder Woman style repeat lol, depowered, new outfit, gritty and all that? Cause where's Hercules jacket? He'll need one too...
