"As to the final act, there are actually a couple. There's the last big showdown between the Boys and the Seven to take care of, and after that there's something else entirely," Ennis said. "There is indeed at least one big widescreen confrontation coming, but that itself will contain a few surprises for all concerned."
Is he referring to the confrontation between Hughie and Butcher we can all see coming?
kinda getting the idea that the ending of The Boys won't be a happy ending .. :-)
I can't say if that was sarcasm, but plenty of Ennis' books have had happy endings:
- In Preacher, Cassidy redeemed himself and Custer/Tulip got together in the end.
- Tommy Monaghan finally escaped his life of crime, as he and his uncle Sean wanted (Hitman).
- Hell, even Crossed had a happy, heart touching (no pun intended) ending, after all the horrible stuff the character went through.
