I am a huge Nick fury fan so I'm excited to see what his has planned for Nick Fury. I've never liked Chaykin's art, but love Deodato's so I can't wait to see how this story turns out.

"That's not just "one man"! That's TONY FREAKING STARK. You're intel should've warned us that he was James Bond and "Q" wrapped in the same guy!" Cobra
I wonder if this next roster change will make it so there aren't any overlapping team members (Spidey and Wolverine being on two Avengers teams for example).
I hope they include Kent Blake in their list of 50s characters.
Apart from the Agents of Atlas, there are Namor, Human Torch, 50s Cap and a number of jungle heroes... unless they use 40s characters that were still active in the 50s, in which case the list is huge.
"Plus, Stuart having elevated himself to the place where he's an event guy is amazing. It's such an awesome thing. He went from '"Nextwave" guy' to 'event guy' solely by the force of his professionalism and his talent. So I think that's just fantastic.” "
Back when Bendis was doing Jinx, Immonen was illustrating the Final Night event for DC. Immonen was a well-respected name in the profession when Bendis was just working his way up.
Does anyone remember the Lost generation heroes? I'd love it if some of them popped up here.
Sounds good, especially the Fury story. I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing what this NA team has in store.
Weren't the Whizzer and Ms Liberty(I think that's her name) active around then? Too bad there won't be anyone from AoA in there.
I'm sorry to hear “Issue #8 is fully painted".
I much prefer pen and ink drawings. But then, I love comic book art more than paintings. Hey, if it was good enough for Neal Adams, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Gene Colan, John Buscema, Gil Kane, Curt Swan, Jim Steranko, Wally Wood, John Severin, Russ Heath, etc...
What I like the most with BMB is actually he's doing his best to pay hommage to his heroes, and by this to a particular approach that used to drive to comics a lot of people. I love when he throws in his sentences names like Walt Simonson, Alan Davis and Howard Chaykin. I just regret he didn't mention Bill Sienkiewicz this time - but he said something really cool about him and his MOONKNIGHT run, that let me think he could have rooms for this guy too ( more SPIDERWOMAN ? ).
Alan Davis was actually the Stuart Immonen of the last decade, and he'll be perfect for a title like AVENGERS ACADEMY, having done a real ammount of work in the X-Universe, I really think this is the A-verse who needs his sense of emphasis the most.
I miss Walt Simonson a lot, i remember reading X-FACTOR and not really noticing the new creative staff until his Master Mold' issue blew my eyes, I'm not sure he did a visually darkest story than this one actually. I really would love to see him far more too, I'm pretty sure he could do with THE ETERNALS what he did with THOR.
The idea of the Pre-Avengers, done by Howard Chaykin, is just a dream coming true ( i though about something similar, at the same era and with the S.H.I.E.L.D too, but about Charles Xavier' youth, it would had been called the X-PERIMENT : super-spies mutants, in the 50's ) and i really am curious about it. Thanks mister BMB, keep on the good vibes..!

Black Fox. You know... Raul Chalmers, jewel thief? He would have been the right age.
Or the original stretch-o Thin Man.
Selene is a possibility.
I'm kind of surprised to see that Bendis is honoring Jeff Parker's Agents of Atlas by not touching them at all in this tale, but I still wonder whom he'll use within this 1950s storyline of his New Avengers arc ?![]()
I couldn't agree more here. I thought him and Alan Davis meshed really well. I hope the Walt reference Bendis made is to a possible future collaboration.
Also, I love this time period of Marvel. There's still a lot of stories that can be told in this time period. Sounds really fun.
Bendis seems to have a good idea of where hes taking this series. For a while, i was worried that it was going to become irrelevant due to Avengers and Marvel's love for their shiny new movie studio. Also, another thing I'm excited about is it seems Immonen will be back after Fear Itself...yesss!
Now if only I could read a Bendis book without cringing at the horrible dialogue.
Live Comics. Love Comics.
