All we/Silver Zeal wanna know is when is Marvel gonna give Obregon Kaine his shine.
I'm definitely excited about both Ruse and especially Sigil, but I gotta agree: my favorite CrossGen comic was Negation...
Didn't want to give this one a pass because I loved the crossgen books.
But the new Ruse was 95% of the original, and 5% "new" (mainly in taking place on Earth
this Sigil is 5% of the original, and 95% new...I mean really if I was a fan of the original, am I supposed to pick this book up just because it has the same name as the last "Sigil"? I'm almost insulted
very disappointed, pass
The previous poster is certainly correct, and I have already mentioned my own disappointment because of the same matter.
On the other hand, I am actually more likely to pick this up now, having read the interview with Carey. I still don't think the revamp was necessary, but I'm encouraged to know that he read the former series and was a CrossGen fan.
At this point, it's sounding to me a little bit like a cross between the original Sigil series and Doctor Who, with a young girl as the lead character.

I sampled most of the CrossGen line when it came out. Sigil and Sojourn were the two titles I stuck with to the end (I would have stuck with Ruse as well had Mark Waid been around for the full run).
I don't understand why they are reusing the title and somewhat 'borrowing' the name of the main character when this new incarnation of Sigil has no connection to the previous series.
If this series was called something else (perhaps Bearer or something along those lines) and the main character had her own name, it is probably something I would take a look at because it sounds like it might actually be interesting.
But given that I was a big fan of the original Sigil, I'm not gonna pick it up now because it is not SIGIL. If I'm going to read a title called Sigil with a character named Sam Rey, then I want the core of that original work, not some complete new spin which is only borrowing the two name elements. What the heck is the point of that?
So are they ever going to fill in what happened during Negation War? I mean the event ended four issues short and had the whole Cross Gen Universe at War, it would be nice to know what happened.
I have to say this sounds horrible, they essentialy rebooted the entire universe randomly and tossed out all the chracters still this might have been cause by fallout. the only elements that are the same are the name, sigils, and a universe at war.

Yeah. I know that they prefer a "new" universe, in order not to scare the new readers about something old that they didn't read at that time...
...but, uh, a SINGLE issue that brings to the end the Negation War, and maybe that "transforms" the old universe into the new one seems a very reasonable compromise to me.
Mike Carey AND Leonard Kirk. How can this fail?
I'm actually quite looking forward to reading this.

Agreed with all d above.
We suggest dat Marvel at least make a reference 2 d conclusion of d Negation way and wat happened 2 d different respective xcters as a prologue and/or in-reference within their supposed re-booted 'new' universe.
D earlier books r still on sale and Marvel should at least make their collections more available by including dem in their promotions, adverts and distribution from which new readers can b referred 2 those books and would b more accessible 2 dem.
Would it b such a bad idea 2 do so?
Not really being a fan of time travel stories, I ordered this anyway. This interview eases my mind a little, as does his job and makes it sound compelling, but he avoids explaining the war itself. There are two focuses here, Samantha and the war, and he largely talks about the former. So, I still lack understanding of what exactly will be going on.
It has the feel of a CrossGen idea, seemingly merging elements of Sigil, Meridian, and Negation. (At least, those are the ones that come most readily to mind.)
So these two issues do not follow CrossGen's original continuity? I knew Sigil were different characters but I just thought it still took place in the same universe. Then I read about Ruse and the previews I read make it sound like they are the same characters but in a different continuity.
