    Thumbs up

I was rereading my 1st Manhunter tpb and it reminded me of what a great artist Jesus is.

He's also rapidly becoming one of my fave comics artists

IMHO he's an awesome choice to be the artist of BoP

No offense, but this is now 3 regular artists in the title's first year.

Benes (who left because of a health problem), Syaf (who left for reasons unclear) and now Saiz. And apparently Guillem March was in there too?

Don't get me wrong - Saiz is darn good (MANHUNTER, JMS's BatB). But come on, DC. Stick with consistency, please.

I can hardly wait for this, his work was stunning on Brave and the Bold!

Now all we need is DC to officially confirm Brave and the Bold is cancelled.

Terrific, he's a great artist. I hope he sticks around for a while though. This series has been very inconsistent art wise.

This. And too bad, too--it was the best thing Straczynski ever did at DC. Glad to see Saiz is getting a good gig--the book needs him.

I'd rather see them announce it's on hiatus. It's a lovely title and deserves to continue with the same numbering - but it's also a title that enjoys the luxury of not necessarily needing to come out "right now, monthly".

They should spend a while looking for somebody to replace J.M.S. (It can't be that hard) and find a nice artist. But there's no rush.

Seconded! The original book was a big part of my childhood, and it'd be a shame for today's readers to be deprived so soon of something that could go forward even better than it began this time around. Perhaps a 2nd tier JLA-er or two (Firestorm, Atom, Vixen, etc...) on an around-the-world quest, with a different guest each issue, and it could even dovetail with Batman, Inc. once in awhile. Similar to way back when the Thing (Ben Grimm) had that Project Pegasus mega-story going on in Marvel Two-in-One.

well, at least this title isn't alone. Can't speak for all DC books, but Zatanna and Gotham City Sirens had/have the same problems. At least Birds of Prey has one consistent writer

But i hate this inconsistency too, i just like to read a story with one consistent vision of the characters.

Oh yeesh, forgot about ZATANNA (which was long delayed to give the artist time.....who then left the series as interior artist with #4 or so).

But yes, at least DC series tend to stay in the hands of 1 writer (or at least the changes affect writers much less).

I loved Saiz stuff on both Manhunter and B&TB, but I'm suprised DC didn't go with someone more cheesecake-ey. Not quite Benes level (if that's possible), but someone between him and the understated Saiz.

Saiz is a brilliant artist! Must be sweet to be a Birds of Prey fan right now.

saiz coming on board is awesome news!

but i will defend dc and bop by saying that maybe they were trying artists out. there's many of them out there and they need to make a mark of some kind. and, they need some money (however much it may be) too.

but welcome, saiz! nice of you to join!
