Default How do you feel about Count Jubilee?

Let the ranting and raving begin! How do you feel about vamp Jubes? For or against? Me? Well...I think its pretty sad and pathetic on MARVEL's part...

Heck, why not just make her skin sparkle in the sun and get it over with Joe Q. -- we all know who you're aiming this stunt at don't we?

I wish they wouldn't have depowered her in the first place, but I think this is actually a pretty interesting development.

Ugh, It's Count Draculee or Count Jubula. Get it right.

I like it! It's one of the only good things to come out of the Curse of the Mutants story that fizzled so much towards the end. Jubilee is a great character and since M-Day and even a little before that, she's been pretty much an afterthought. Now she's back in the fold in a new and interesting way. It would have been too easy for her to just get her powers back. They've done that already. Magneto got his back. Pietro got his back. Why should Jubilee go that path? As a vampire, a new range of potential is added to her character. She's no longer just your normal teenage girl. She's a vampire now. She's got an edge to her that has even the X-men worried. I really think this could be good for her. I've missed Jubilee in the comics for a while and I'm glad she's back. It's been long overdue and I'm ready for her to be awesome again.

Yeah. Storm actually was bitten by Dracula in Uncanny X-Men #159 but never really "transformed" into a vamp. Bloodstorm is an homage to that, which was a pretty lame idea to begin with.

The point is that MARVEL took a character that was cast aside and made her a vampire amidst a huge tweeny-bopper emo-vamp craze. Can anyone honestly believe this is a coincidence? That's all I'm saying.

A bunch of people said this when Curse of the Mutants was first revealed. It's still nothing like Twilight (and etc).

    And Bloodstorm was siq.

Y'know what's REALLY terrible? Buffy Series 8. What a dreadful series! Undead Jubilee is a vast improvement on that comic.

:-) Great. You have your opinion and I have mine. Getting down to the nitty-gritty aesthetic of it you are correct Count Jubes is NOTHING like the Sparkle Vamps or whatever. My point is that Joey Q and co. hopped on the vamp trend (Twilight, Vamp Diaries, True Blood, etc.). IMHO that's kind of sad. I'm know this isn't the first or last time jumping on a bandwagon has occurred in pop culture...it just feels...weak...

I feel like the last ten years have been this flip flopping of continuity, by way of retconning Morrison, changing characters with M-Day, undoing the effects of M-Day on individual characters, and of course resurrecting characters or pulling characters out of limbo. If this were a play, people would just walk on and off the stage, but nothing would ever happen.

I'm a big fan of PAD for keeping Rictor powerless for so long, and I wish that Magneto had remained powerless so that he would have had to struggle to remain relevant. I'm also pleased that Jean has been gone for a while, and I hope that it stays that way. Writers and editors should be looking forward, not looking backward.

I wish she'd end up in an "odd couple" relationship with a vampire that could finally teach her some math.

Gives her something to do while everyone's waiting to get repowered.
