Is it just me or does the reflection of Clark in that poster (of him in the suit) look like they just used an image of Brandon Routh in costume and just faded out his face?
Eh, Comics is a pretty cool guy...

You beat me to it!! Or maybe it means the eventual Superman film will feature Tom Welling as Superman?

    Hey, that looks nice.

Though seeing Tom Welling's Clark standing there with his hands in his pockets.......doesn't seem right?

Really? Am I nitpicking a picture I already said I liked and still do?? Ngah.

Yeah, I had the same initial reaction. It seems much too casual and "whatever" a pose for an image that's supposed to foreshadow a significant transition for the character.

At least you guys noticed the reflection. I was trying to figure out what "clue" they were talking about.

That said, while I do think they will show him in the costume, I don't think this necessarily makes that seem more likely. You could have shown the same image 5 years ago and it could still just reflect him EVENTUALLY meeting his destiny.

I wonder if there would be a setup for a Smallville comic book following the adventures of this TV-verse after the show ends? You know, a world where Clark is better friends with Oliver Queen than Bruce Wayne, and where Stargirl appeared in costume before Superman did :)

It's amazing how absolutely awful The CW is at marketing. They're just reusing the same terribly Photoshopped picture of Tom that they have used for three years now, with what is probably Routh's image in the reflection.

Thankfully this season itself is fantastic. I wish The CW would market it in a way that reflected that.

But there was barely a SMALLVILLE comic when the show was on and running strong. It lasted 8 issues (not even a year).....though it may've been bi-monthly (so that'd be almost a year and a half).

And let's not mention the long-rumored introduction to Chloe Sullivan into the mainstream DCU - by the time she was finally introduced, in these Jimmy Olsen ACTION COMICS backups, Allison Mack was no longer a regular on the show.

.......y'know, come to think of it, maybe there will be a SMALLVILLE comic picking up where the show leaves off. But knowing DC......it'll be in 2019 or so. O_o

I would read it. It'd be interesting to say the least.

Check this guy out, he shows how the image IS from the Superman Returns Promo, but points out a difference in the boots

Not sure if he's right about the boots or not, but I thought it was funny how easy it was to show it was the exact image of Routh.

Tom's never going to wear the costume, he really just doesn't want to. And he'll never be Superman in the movie. For seemingly being the Superman of this generation, he really doesn't like Superman.
Least it seems that way to me.

Suppossedly, he is/was concerned with being typecasted as a result of wearing the costume. Which would be rather silly, seeing how many prominent actors have donned superhero costumes over the last ten years or so.

I think there's a difference between say appearing as Spider-man or Batman and being Superman though.

If that didn't help him get over it, the fact he's been playing Clark Kent for ten freakin' years should have done it.

It's also kind of silly considering that he's basically had one significant acting gig for the last decade, costume or no costume. The typecasting avoidance ship has long sailed, I'd say.
