    Angry Favourite freak-out classic comics...

...Where your usually level-headed hero loses it.

I first read Flash 276 in the early 90s when I was still a kid. Barry Allen's wife was killed and Flash 'tripped' after he went to the JLA to ask Green Lantern to use his power-ring to restore her to life...and attacked them. I pretended the lemonade sherbet for my lollipop was Angel Dust. And oh yeah, I remembered this one recently after seeking out NM copies of #275 and 276

    1 Kings 21:23

And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

    Batman #496

Whereas the second half of the Knightfall story was downright insulting, the first half was quite epic for me, as we saw the hero who had always pushed himself past all self-imposed limits quickly approach a brick wall. This was the climax of that story for me where, after days and nights of tracking down escaped Arkham convicts without getting any sleep, Batman gets gassed by Scarecrow, finds Joker, and just starts pounding on him mercilessly while haunted by the memory of what Joker did to Jason Todd. In the end, I think you could easily make the case that Bruce had been more shattered by the experience than a severely beaten Joker had been.

Definitely one of my top Batman moments of all time.
