if i see one similar size at toys r us for the upcoming green lantern movie i might be tempted but again size is a problem. but i love action figures. and i was thrilled when my friend gave me this figure.
I think it was just $30 at Wal-Mart, at least that's the info I got when looking for those images.

thats cheap. half price wow. i love toys. i still buy them sometimes. it goes back to my childhood (queue violins), when my mom would take me to toy stores. often we didnt have money to buy any but i loved what i later came to realize was the term - window shopping. and there were so many cool toys i remember seeing. especially star wars. that was incredible. everything and anything seemed to have a star wars model or release. and there were alot of superman toys and figures. he was merchandised more than batman at the time. wonder woman occasionally got a look in but it was mostly spiderman, hulk, superman and batman. sometimes i wish i could have a chance to go back to those simple times in a time machine.

This Tron Legacy figure looks a lot like D.E.'s current incarnation of Buck Rogers

i was looking through my folders of superhero toys and posters, and found this funny superhero toy ad, from aurora, and thought people here might find it interesting -- and funny -- love the line about new york!

Although it looks pretty hacky, I've seen this credited to Wally Wood.

"Don't worry, this is New York. No one will help her."

That's some cynical copy, even if it was the dirty 70's.

it is an interesting superhero toy ad for sure; i was a little surprised about the no one will help her comment in the panel for new york; especially for a comic book for kids.

Google the name "Kitty Genovese". Even kids had heard of her in the 70s.

Interesteing history lesson there, Rob. Thanks for the tip off! The Wikipedia article on Genovese's demise is pretty interesting and informative.

i used to have the landspeeder but i gave it to a guy i used to be friends with several years ago. he came over and i showed him some of my old toys and he liked the landspeeder so much i asked him if he wanted to have it? and he did so i gave it to him. also gave him the pocket heroes spiderman figure and several other toys. then later on he wanted more and more and when i told him no he didnt want to be my friend anymore.

**** also if anyone is reading this -- can other people post in this thread - there has to be other people on here who have recollections about their favorite toys or have photos to share! or even if you dont have any photos, maybe there was a toy you saw as a child that you really wanted but never got --- talking about those kinds of things would make for interesting reading too!
