Wow, when it comes to the cosmic side of Marvel, it seems that Reed's always the last to know these things.
Also I thought Falcon was on these Avengers teams.![]()
Why does Marvel insist on giving JRJR 1970's throwback heavy brush inkers like Palmer and Janson?
JRJR pencils his work very loosely, so he needs a fine detailed inker to finish out his rough page layouts. Heavy brush inkers can't do this?![]()
Can't wait to get Avengers! The Illuminati getting back together. Nuff said!
"That's not just "one man"! That's TONY FREAKING STARK. You're intel should've warned us that he was James Bond and "Q" wrapped in the same guy!" Cobra
One thing I can say about Claremont's dialogue is that even when it's corny, it's not painful to read. I can't say that with Bendis. Why is everyone so surly and bitchy when he writes them?
I wonder if Namor's going to talk about the Cabal. Isn't Namor is still in an alliance with Doom?
I've been wondering that myself.
There has been no fall out between them so far... Doom even was petitioning Osborn to bring Namor back into the Cabal right before Siege.
But Namor is an X-Men, and Doom had a pretty severe issue with them in Doomwar so I'm not exactly sure if that ended things with them or not. Honestly, I think the Black Panther books sort of did an iffy job handling that whole relationship.
I've always thought that most artists (at least most good ones) look better when they ink their own pencils, even if there inks aren't as slick and polished as a full-time inker. Looking at Guice's art in those cap pages, with inks by Gaudiano, confirms the theory. Not bad looking at all, but something is missing from what I'd expect if Guice had inked them himself.
Bendis dialog is absolutely fine when writing his pet characters, and even to a lesser extent the guys he has a handle on. Claremont in the past has been ok, I haven't read much by him recently. But bagging on Bendis dialog kinda misses his strengths, which is talking heads. (for those of you that read Knights of the Dinner Table, the comic is basically using the same images and just adding dialog, this is something that Bendis does well)
