Marvel Comics has released artist David Aja's covers for March's "5 Ronin" miniseries, a Peter Milligan scripted event which reimagines five of Marvel's heroes as masterless samurai living in feudal Japan.

I could be mistaken, but I thought the Aja covers were the regular covers. The other covers by Cassaday and company are variants, I believe.

Wolverine, Psylocke, Punisher and Deadpool kind of make sense. The Hulk is an odd choice of character, though. I wonder if they'll tie that one into Japanese myth and legend. Maybe he'll be a man who turns into an oni.

I'd be interested in this if the character picks weren't so ridiculously unimaginative and boring. For once I'd like to see re-imaginations like this with a little less popular/mainstream characters. I mean, Wolverine as a ronin? Come on.

I'm in agreement with (most)everyone else here.
These covers are stunning and I'd be willing to pay a jacked up in-store price for these if they are indeed variants. After reading, they're probably getting displayed on a wall in my comic-cave.
