I think i was one of like fifteen people who watched that show on TV on regular basis. which was like two weeks or something? Now all we need is a Capital Critters Revamp and life will be good.
This will be something like the fifth time I've bought those first few issues, but I don't care. I liked this series and stuck with it to the end (a satisfying conclusion too). I even bought the Fish Schticks spinoff (which was fun but lesser, kind of like Munden's Bar to Grimjack). My introduction to Fish Police was actually the color volume published by Warner Books. This was a very short lived attempt by Warner to sell graphic novels (including the Hernandez Brothers' version of Mr. X) to the book trade before it became normal. Watchmen and Dark Knight might have come out already, but if they did, it was recent - I'm not even sure that Sandman had been released in trade yet.
What I haven't seen anywhere is how many issues each volume will contain - I don't care - I'm buying it anyway to have a nice archival version - but it would be nice to know.
I didn't see anything that addressed whether these collections will be in the original black and white, or in color. While I'd assume that means B&W (which is fine), we have seen some older series "colorised" (BONE leaps to mind, as well as the stuff reprinted by IDW as DOCTOR WHO CLASSICS). Some B&W books are very much intended to be B&W (CEREBUS, for example), and use grays and heavy blacks enough that colorization seems pointless. I don't recall FP fitting that mold (and I don't recall the color volume of the first few issues seeming to massacre the art)....
Oh, and for the obligatory "this too" comment - now, if only someone could get Steve Purcell to do a nice SAM & MAX mini....
Thanks Kozmo for remembering Fish Schticks. I was lucky to have penciled and inked that series and it was a ball working with Mr.Moncuse on that.
Wow...just last week I was talking with the owner of my local comic shop about this series and how I thought it would be cool if it came back like so many other small press titles were!
I've always been curious about this series, I've seen various issues around but never picked them up for one lame reason or another, but if there's a collection coming out I'll definately grab that!
It's going to be really sweet seeing Fish Police on the shelves again!
I remember seeing the adds for the series back in the days, but I never bought the series. I think I'll give it a try, this time.
