What is going on?
Well this is disappointing.
I feel bad for Supergirl fans, but I hope it works out for the best . . .
On the positive side, many people were wondering if Spencer was taking on too much, and this will allow him not to lose ground on T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents & his other work.
Totally gutted by this -- I know his run was going to be great.
But it makes a good deal of sense with his workload. Iron Man 2.0, THUNDER Agents, Morning Glories, Infinite Vacation, Jimmy Olsen backup/one shot (and him wanting to do more), Supergirl would have been too much.
Here's hoping DC signs him to an exclusive contract so we can get him on more DC books though.

I posted this on the DC site as well, but honestly why do they expect people to pay for work done by a writer with almost no experience in the industry? If Peaty was really passionate about writing comics he could write for a host of smaller publishers but instead only does fill in work for DC. I've really enjoyed Gates' work on Supergirl and was looking forward to Spencer taking over but have no interest in supporting a book that the company publishing it cares so little about.
DC has a pretty great lineup right now, with Snyder, Cornell, Roberson and Lemire all taking prominent roles. It's the best it's been in a while.
I think Spencer is on par with everyone on that list, though, and I'd like to see him added to the ranks of DC's great up and coming talent. He seems to have a real affection for a lot of DC characters, to, and I was sure that SUpergirl would have been the perfect venue for him to continue telling Jimmy Olsen stories, as a supporting cast member at least.
Add Spencer and Eric Trautmann to the list of DC exclusives, and throw Krul out of there, and I'd be a sublimely happy man.
That's a Bummer. I know this maybe a good opportunity for James Peatty and all, and it may even turned out good afterall in that Spencer can focus more on his other works,
but the hell with it, right now that's a letdown.![]()
Hahahahha. WHAT?
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.
Christ. This sucks.
You know, I already predict beforehand this kind of response would come. Thing is, Nick Spencer does an amazing job at T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents and Morning Glories, so I'd like to see more of his work with Supergirl. Have you read his work? He's great at concept and also delivers great dialogue.
Ugh. And just as I was beginning to get ready to pick the series up.
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.
I am a male. Deal with it.
