Default CBR: DC WRITERS RELAY: Snyder on Lemire

In the first of a special four-part feature, CBR invited some of DC Comics' rising writer stars to interview each other, starting with Scott Snyder digging into the history of "Sweet Tooth" and "Superboy" with Jeff Lemire.

This was a great interview. GREAT interview. Something more than just pure hype, which is very rare. Something weighty.

I am super excited about this series of interviews. If this is anything like whats to come, they'll be great. So it'll be, what? Snyder, Lemire, Spencer (he's not DC exclusive, though), and...? Krul? Roberson? Cornell?

Hopefully Roberson or Cornell. Those are the guys. Those guys are doing a lot of exciting, thoughtful work for DC, Boom and Vertigo.

The Supe's is always hard to write, because they are powerful, naive, without character flaw. Even Lemire himself is not interested in writing Superboy at first.

But I'm glad that he can find a fitting themes for Superboy and built from there. After the flawless debut in #1, his story is meh in #2. His voice for Conner Kent is spot on, though. Here's hoping he can turn it up, because I believe he has much potential in him. I'm also interested with his creepy plans for Superboy.

I didn't follow "Sweet Tooth" so I can't comment, but the words of mouth was good. Kudos to Snyder for great interview! Looking forward for the next part.

Sorry to dig out an "old" interview, but I'm really impressed by its depth and asides... and I'm more intrigued than ever about Lemire's Animal Man and Snyder's Swamp Thing.

That was an awesome interview. Hadn't read it before, so no worries on the necro post.

I've been loving American Vampire to pieces but haven't given Sweet Tooth a try, I think that will have to change.
