I'm on the fence with this one. Never heard of Proof before now, but I normally like the stuff that Image puts out there.
So for those who have been exposed to Proof - would you recommend it to someone whose tastes run along the lines of Chew, Walking Dead, Morning Glories, and Irredeemable (as well as a bunch of Bat stuff)?
Yes! This is supposed to be a good jumping on point so definitely check it out. "Bigfoot in a suit fighting monsters" doesn't really do the series justice imo, even if it's the basic premise. John is as much man as bigfoot at this point in his life. A lot of the drama comes from him being torn between those two worlds.
I would recommend reading the previous trades if you like it since so much was built up. The trades are very nice quality btw, dunno if you've seen them or not.
The first time I saw Riley's art was in a Proof preview online and I was kind of turned off by all the crazy lines and stuff. Something about it wiggled into my brain though so I kept going back and looking at it and each time I liked it more. Decided to buy the book and I love his work now. I guess the point being don't be shocked by the art, give it a chance because it's awesome.
whew sorry I rambled there for a bit.

Hey thanks you two - based on what you've said I'll definitely give it a shot.
Yes, everyone forget free will for a moment, and do as these gentlemen say.
You will not regret adding this title to your pull list.
Go back and read the TPBs as well, volumes 1-4 are out now, and volume 5 hits the same day as Proof: Endangered #1.
Alex and Riley have created a fantastic world with an extremely well fleshed-out cast. Now that the stakes have been raised in the title character's life, I can only see this book getting more exciting to read each month.
So yeah, go buy it on Wednesday, and tell your friends to do the same.
I picked this up without knowing anything about Proof and I enjoyed it well enough, but the art just keeps reminding me of Cowboy Ninja Viking in the worst ways. I'm not sure I'll stick with it, but I will give it a few more issues to see if the art grows on me.
*sigh* <3 the good old days...
No one responds to street art anymore.
People tend to respond to things like loaded guns in their faces.
That and celebrity spokesmodels.
