I remember getting into comic books in a religiously surpressed home was no easy task. Especially in the 90's. Bad girl comics, Vertigo, violence, dismemberment, and sexualized women. Yet I found places to hide comics as I bought them from gas stations and Walgreens.
Acceptance finally happened. I was able to buy more freely, and started going to the local comic book shop. I remembered a scene from a Spiderman comic that I had read from a friend who was doing the same collecting comics long before I had. I read a few issues of a Spiderman comic, and one particular scene was forever remembered.
A man was fighting a giant spider. It seemed to be made up of thousands of tiny spiders. One panel showed where he bit the giant spider, and in one close up panel there were small spiders being gnashed between his teeth.
I relayed this to the comic shop owner many years ago when I first went there and was surprised that with some thought and consultation with other employess and patrons that it was discovered what book it was.
So I thought it might be interesting to pose some description, how much or how little you want, and see if we can flex our brains for the answer. Whether you really need an answer or want to just test our mantle, share if you would like.
