It really does sound legitimately interesting...with Rick Remender and Tony Moore...
Can the marketplace support it?

After reading that, I am more convinced than ever that it will be Flash Thompson. He has the military background thus he would be a natural candidate for the suit/assignment. It's possible the suit gives him his legs back while in costume, only deepening the "depression when he is not in suit" that they refer to here.

if that is the case, then maybe venom will finally be interesting again.
im in, that sounds awesome
Well if this is the case, Venom can't be The Punisher, because he doesn't have any loved ones (a few people suggested him in the speculation thread). Also Peter Parker as the new venom is out of the possibilities too.
I'm having a hard time believing that it'll be Flash Thompson, too - the guy is not known for his eyebrows (which, for some reason, are left in on the white void)... But I'd love to be surprised with this. I'm actually kind of hoping it'll be the guy just so I can say 'where are they going to go with this???'
I'm hoping it's Vin. All of the traits are there for him to be both good and bad... although I'm not entirely sure how they are goin to get him from point A (spider-man point one) to point B (venom #1 where he's being a messed-up James bond).
It could be John Jameson.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

That's a decent hook and creative team for a Venom series.
Guess it's not going to be Peter Parker.
Man, I don't know about this. The concept doesn't have me sold, but then again, it's Rick frickin' Remender. I'm not sure I can pass up an ongoing written by him.

Dude, I am not sure that "eyebrows" should be the stumbling block here. Flash still makes the most sense to me (Vin not so much because of the lack of "supporting cast" they refer to and the solicit seems to imply it's a character with a deeper/richer history). But.....I like cyberhubb's guess that it could be John Jameson a lot!![]()

I understand the eyebrows comment was a little weak, I just don't really get from an artistic or design standpoint on why they, of all things, are left in that void. Regardless of whether or not the speculation had any merit when it comes to the eyebrows, it's still valid speculation because that's the only clue we're really left with.
If anything it doesn't make sense to me why people are guessing Flash when the guy isn't known for spiky hair and baggy clothes. You'd think it would be more interesting to slap Flash in his current condition on the cover, because then it would be 'harder' to figure out how he got from one point to another.
Vin and Flash are the ideal ones for me, they've been around since BND to give the Venom story a little weight. They just brought back Jameson - and he's more of a canidate to be in that silver suit they had in the first Big Time issue (not saying that he is, there's just more of a chance - to me).
But that's the fun of guessing, nobody knows until it's revealed. :)
Look, these guys are masters at stirring the pot for guessing games and the like! Just look at all the talk over what Hobgobin we were getting when his return was announced last summer!! (and what a great----and shocking----payoff we got!).
So....yeah, this is lots of fun! But I don't think that the figure on the cover (which looks more like Martin Li than anyone else to me in that silhouette) is meant to be taken very seriously as a real depiction of the new host. I am guessing it is a more figurative image, but maybe I am off base there.

Torn between Flash and Jameson.
With John, it would give Jonah a chance to root for a Spider-Man that is his own son. And Slott has sort of been building him from the start of Big Time.
Flash, on the other hand, would work if the suit gave him legs again. So he'd continue to turn to it and slowly build an addiction.
Eh, either or.

Wow, looks awesome.
00Venom! What an awesome concept! Remender and Moore can do no wrong. They made Punisher into a Frankenstein monster and it was actually good!
