    Oh yay!

Another Jean Grey story involving the Phoenix murdering hundreds of thousands.

    Brilliant storytelling.

Yes, nothing like that although this time Jean is focusing on humans not random aliens.

I expected something new from Mike Carey involving Jean's story.

Whatever, writers are lazy when it comes to Jean. Always going to the Phoenix.

It was Xavier and the X-men who avoided that on 616, and since Morrison's run, the phoenix is Jean inevitable final form, so this was pretty much unavoidable...

It should be avoided at all costs.

By the way, Marvel calling this "viral" and saying that "Eagle eyed readers" would spot it, feels like a seventy years old lady going "Cool, this totally rocks" to say hello.

Ah, do not worry, she will be back in a more bening form for Age of X. Of course, still tied to the Phoenix it seems, so...

It's really sad. If they didn't want to use Jean, they should have just had her use her powers to throw herself in front of the car that she telekinetically threw Annie into in 616. She could have heroically sacrificed herself instead of murdering her friend.

Uhm.. The power that manifested when Annie was hit was Telepathy. Telekinesis didn't come till later.

It's an alternate reality. There could be different rules, if the writer wanted there to be. Kinda like how AoA turned out.

Uh, it was telekinesis. How else did the frisbie just *happen* to fly in front of oncoming traffic?
