Wow, next to the 90s animated series, I don't think I never seen any forms of Peter Parker's parents in any media form.![]()
They appeared in one of the early annuals (which isn't exactly a beloved story) that featured Red Skull. And robot copies of them appeared in the mid 90s.
I think we saw more of them in Ultimate Spider-man. I guess Richard Parker created Venom or something (I haven't read much Ultimate Spider-man, not a Bagley fan).
I always wondered about them when I read the comics but they weren't all that interesting whenever we saw them. Peter parents being superspies is a little too much I think.
Campbell Scott is kind of a cool choice too for Peters dad. He looks like an older Peter Parker. I kind of like most of the casting in the movie so far. Leary is the only one that seems kind of off to me (but I guess the Ultimate Captain Stacy is a little more Learyesque).
Pull List: Action Comics, Green Lantern, GLC, GL: New Guardians, Justice League, The Flash, Batman Inc, Batman, Nightwing, Batman & Robin, Dial H, Animal Man, Frankenstien, Earth-2
I hope they go the Ultimate route with this rather than the spy route, the issue of US where Peter finds the home video of himself as a child on a picnic with his parents is one of the few times I've really found a comic tugging me emotionally.
We hate Millwall, and we hate Millwall.....

I love that annual, and the robots story
They had a story in Untold Tales of Spider-Man 0, they saved Logan/Wolverine

Considering Peter turned to be a real wimp before the spider bite?I always wondered about them when I read the comics but they weren't all that interesting whenever we saw them. Peter parents being super spies is a little too much I think.
Ultimate Universe is more of Webb's alley, he admitted being a huge fan, and the Peter used here for the death of his parents is a 6 years old, same as Ultimate Peter

If they go down the superspy route, odds on that the Red Skull isn't mentioned, given he's in the Marvel Studios Captain America movie and the various rival studios have yet to lend each other any characters... would be nice to see this start happening, but things like merchandising rights would presumably be very complicated (thanks lawyers!)

Technically, there's nothing to suggest in the Hollywood Reporter article that a pair of villains is married to one another.
According to the article, Annie Parise is considered for the role of the villain's wife. This doesn't suggest that she is the villain.
If the Lizard is the bad guy, Parise might just be playing Martha Connors.
I'm just curious to know what Irrfan Khan's role is, if at all it is true. The guy sure made a great jump from Indian films to small roles in Hollywood movies to this. But knowing Hollywood it will be a stereotypical second in command thug type.....
