Seriously... the artist just brought over the horses, people and Dragons from Avatar into this... and no one at Marvel noticed them in the background?
On second thought... I just saw the film, so its fresh on my mind... but they were on the mind of the artist as they were sprinkled throughout the background. The art is gorgeous though. Love the design of the representative giant.

Asgard has fallen so often in the last decade, it needs LifeAlert.
And now the "Dark Gods"? Didn't Jurgens do this exact same plot, back in the day?

i hope that yellow bat who rhymes things shows up to eat someone.
Give em the crane kick!
Does that joke ever get old?
The Punisher: I’m going to cauterize your rectum, sealing it shut, so when you turn those delicious Pink Pants™ Fruit Pies into waste products the bilirubin in your feces will leach into your bloodstream and you’ll die screaming! And I’ll watch while having sex with this grateful prostitute!
Trussed-Up Hooker: Blueberry are my favorite!
In other words, what StoneGold said.

So true. So very, sadly, true.Asgard has fallen so often in the last decade, it needs LifeAlert.
NEXT ISSUE: Asgard finds a new home, but all is not what it seems. Hordes of unicorns are stampeding! Will Asgard fall to the unstoppable force? Find out next month!
Ugh.
It sounds like this is more a promotion for an upcoming storyline than the current one. The editor promises big battles plus revelations with Tyr, Sif and these other gods. But this is a seven issue arc. We are already three issues in and the next two are going to be dealing with Odin. I don't see how he can really squeeze the rest in at the pace Fraction is going. Where are they going to squeeze all this stuff in at?
To me it comes across as Marvel has heard all the complaints about how slow the series has been and is trying to reassure readers that they are going to cram into this all in four issue. People are not seeing the storyline going anywhere so Marvel is trying to pump it up? Plus, the rational for Loki still does not make sense nor does the characterization of the characters.
In the end this just comes off to me as desperate.
And for the record, all the families I know where far less has occurred brothers refuse to see each other even at parent's funerals. So for Thor to suddenly want Loki back is even less believable.
"I'm a huge Odin fan. I love the fact that he has this vast, immense power; he can snap his fingers and things will happen, and he just sort of expects that because he is the king of the gods.
This dude needs to answer where the Odin Force is because Odin without it isn that strong.
It's just terrible whats happend with Thor...
JMS and Gillen had real vision...this is just crap now.
Glad Odin is coming back... The story itself seems rather weak. How's Odin going to deal with all this? Gee let me think... He'll kick Balders lame FAILED LEADER butt to the curb with out a second thought. Odin isnt known for his fear of hurting someones feelings when taking back command of a rather PATHETIC Asgard.
1: He takes his chair back and Balder will SMILE that he's back in charge
2: He'll beat down these "Dark Gods" leader
3: He'll raise his hands and POW, Asgard it BACK where it belongs
There I just saved myself money by spoiling the story the way it SHOULD but WONT go. Im getting tired of Thor bringing back Loki. It just constantly makes Thor look like a idiot. There are a TON of characters with evil family members in Marvel, and they dont go out of their way to save them when they die BECAUSE THEY'RE EVIL!!!!
Either make it that the Gods just "Regenerate/Rematerialize" if they're atoms aren't scattered (much like how the damn Handbooks have said since the 80's) and stop all the stupid stuff. Marvels already done enough damage making the Gods look super mortal rather then godly the last 2yrs.
I don't dislike Fraction's run on Thor as much as some of you guys do but at the same time it does leave me a little cold for some of the reasons stated.
The Dark Gods idea in particular I have no real problem with, especially with them taking over other realms but I'd like to see a little more depth to them than what we've seen so far.
