Default Views on Joe Casey's Uncanny run

Picked up the first trade of this for a fiver and thought it was pretty fun. What do the die-hard x-fans think of this? There was some cool stuff with mutant brothels and the pop star dating Chamber and Casey has fun with the status quo set up by Morrison. He has a good handle on the characters too. Some of the art is quite ropey though.
I'm only a casual X-Reader so I was wondering what the faithful fans thought of this run.

A little rough-hewn, but still very enjoyable. Not as good as his WildCATS 3.0, though.

It was brilliant and gave us Stacy X. What more could you ask for?

I liked his focus on Nightcrawler...the Sean Phillips issues were the best.

I loved it, personally. I think it's underrated.

I thought it was great at the time and that it still holds-up, even if Abyss was trapped in a bottle and Banshee got his throat hurt again. Plus: Stacy-X. I need to get it all collected at some point.

I said it once and I'll say it again: That period of Casey, Claremont, and Morrison unification was a brilliant, under-rated era.

Thing is, i couldn't tell which issues he was on for art because the trade didn't say which issues each artist was on. I was surprised because normally, I can tell it's Phillips just by looking at it. he obviously hadn't developed his style much by then. There's a nice Ashley Wood issue (although it does have some incredibly lazy backgrounds and anatomy mistakes).

Anyway I guess I liked this trade because it kinda shared some of the playful subversiveness of New X-Men but it managed not to be as alienating to long term fans as that title (not that I personally care, I loved NXM anyway)

Underrated, his run was very entertaining and adventurous, far more than the dour current era

It needs to be collected in it's entirety.

It made me throw up. Still I preferred it to the crap that was going on in X-Men at the time

    Thumbs up

I rather enjoyed it for the most part. To be honest I was a bit skeptical. I remember when they released the preview art there was some... enthusiasm in both ways. But what had me give it a chance initially was the line-up. You had best buddies and people who didn't really interact that much in the past. I really liked that Kurt and Bobby were on the same team, Kurt is more lighthearted with a jovial streak, but Bobby isn't what you'd call dashing. I liked the quips they threw at each other. Then you have a hard case like Logan interacting with Bobby, they never really interacted much either. Then you had the established dislike between Warren and Logan. Just enough familiarity to feel like home and enough new stuff to spice it up like Chamber and Stacy X whom I really thought was an interesting character and she had a lot of potential. Sometimes I think the plots were bizarre but I really felt I did not know what to expect. Plus there was a lot of focus on Kurt. So there. I also got to see Kurt jump around in black leather since we never got the chance in the movies.
