Exclamation CBR's Age of Marvels, Part 1

Previously: CBR Saves the Marvel Universe!

    The Marvel Universe is reborn!

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby have just produced the smash hit, The Fantastic Four, which has become the world's greatest comics magazine. So big that they've hired us to expand their superhero universe.

We are tasked with filling out the rest of the reborn universe using a staple of characters provided to us. For the most part, the concepts and origins of these characters remain similar to the previous MU, however reasonable details and circumstances can be changed to make them fit. Aside from the number of hero/villain characters, the tapestry of the Marvel Universe is also largely in tact. The Marvel Universe's abstract concepts, universal functions, and hidden and alien races all continue to exist, as do many of the previous organizations, locations and objects of importance.

    Here's how it works:
Posters may participate once per day by contributing to the proposed titles/teams (beginning in Post 6 of this thread) or by proposing a new title/team. At least 24-hours must pass before you post your next contribution. Posters are not allowed to edit their posts. If posters edit their posts, or if they accidentally duplicate a previous contribution, then they forfeit their contribution for that day.

    Contributions
    • Titles -- Must be added either before any primary characters are added or after all primary characters have been added. Titles should be the same as the team or primary character featured in that book, but feel free to add a descriptor. You may use pre-existing Marvel titles or create your own.

    • Concepts -- Must be added either before any primary characters are added or after all primary characters have been added. Concepts should be a one or two line description of the title. It's not meant to be a story proposal or character assignment. Concepts must fit within the constraints of the proposed shared universe.

    • Primary Characters -- Must be from the list of saved characters. Each title/team has a limited number of spots for primary characters. While all of the spots do not need to be filled, they cannot be exceeded without a new proposal. Some solo titles cannot be filled until added to a team, however the remaining solo titles may also use characters from teams or be added to teams. Remember, at this point, beyond the FF and any characters linked conceptually through their origins, there is no pre-existing history between any of these characters.

    • Supporting Characters & Villains -- Must be from the list of saved characters. More than one supporting character and villain may be assigned to each title.

    • Writers & Artists -- Must not currently be bound to another publisher by exclusivity agreements. Writers may be assigned to no more than two titles. Artist may be assigned to only one title.
    Proposals
You may propose a new title/team and concept in addition to those already listed. If you propose a title/team and concept, another different poster must use their turn to second your proposition in order for it to be added to the main list to receive contributions. Proposals should be limited to titles and concepts, but may only include a character name if you are proposing a solo title. If you are proposing a team title and concept you must include the number of primary characters, but you may not include any specific characters.

    What next?
After all of our saved characters have been assigned and the titles fleshed out, we'll extend the fun by asking posters to write origins and story proposals and contribute artwork for our titles.

    Default CBR's Age of Marvels

Title - Cabal of Doom. Nice and simple, Doom's going to be organising a team of villains straight from the start.
Good God man! Why are you slapping a monkey.

That doesn't quite fit what we're being asked to do. Please clarify. Are you assigning a title to one of the already proposed titles? Are you proposing this title in addition to those in Post #6? If it's a team title you can't include a character in your proposal or concept.

I'll admit to being slightly confused.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.

You need to either fill in a blank in Post 6 of this thread or propose a title/team and concept not already included.

I'm a little confused after reading the instructions. So at this stage, we're just proposing titles/concepts, sans specific characters. Is that right, or am I misreading things?

(With said title/concept needing to be seconded to become an actuality.)

Can characters be members of more than one team (a la Wolverine), or, once they are selected for a particular team/solo, do they then become removed from the list?

EDIT: NM, the above post clarifies things considerably.

Yeah, I got that part. It's slowly sinking in now. (Didn't see the post #6 part before).

Yes, that's up to you guys, within reason.

Essentially, each day you can either do one of the items listed under Contributions or you can submit a Proposal.
