Man these episodes are/were all out of order. We finally get a masked Destro though.

Yeah, but whatever. In some ways, I'm glad, because the Homecoming episodes were better than some of the earlier ones.

    Also, Serpentor! More or less.

I know Wikipedia is wrong a lot of the time, but their episode list for the right order of the show seem pretty right to me.

The moral of the last episode: don't mess with Cobra Commander...
    "We must fight on!"
"We'll die. We fight and we die, that's how it goes."
    "Then we die gloriously!"
"There's an important word there, and it's not gloriously."

The producer is Lauren Faust, wife of Craig McCraken (Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab), so that's no surprise.

I do like the A-Team feel of the new GI Joe cartoon, though something about the animation seemed off. I actually think the MLP cartoon has better animation.

Freakin' awesome is what it is.

Shameless plug time: I did a tongue-in-cheek episode-by-episode review of the original My Little Pony, then started doing reviews of the new one as soon as it came out (...around post #100). I've actually be surprised by the positive reception.

Well, Tunnel Rat seems to be a fave of recent Joe creators. I believe he had a decent role in the RESOLUTE 'toon. Plus, he was created as a tribute to Larry Hama in the first place, so I'm sure that's been in the minds of any other creators who's ever worked on GI Joe.

I'm rather surprised by that. Normally, an uncaring network shows things out of order and forces the show to deal with it (the last season of the DREW CAREY SHOW was ruined by ABC airing things out of order and the show reworking and refilming things to accomodate). So given that this network - owned and run by Hasbro - is doing this to a show based on one of their most significant properties......is just ridiculous.

Fortunately, this show is very episodic so it hasn't been too adversely effected by the episodes being out of order. I guess they really wanted the Christmas episodes to line up though.

Also, is it just me or are the Transformers Prime episodes awkwardly paced?

It's possible he's in Renegades because he was in Resolute - have in characters that were recently prominent. (Hence a black Ripcord as the surprise death: killing, say, Gung-Ho wouldn't be as big a shock as killing the guy in a film)

It's almost like the first season of Beast Wars, where it feels like each episode has a "drinking game" repetiveness to it and sparse, underpopulated environments. We got a little something about Unicron early on, but for now, its all about the kids meeting these robots and the audience has to pretend they're being introduced to these characters for the first time.

I never really found Beast wars to be repetative. Also they made up for the environments with great characters. In Prime, thus far, the episodes have been Michael Bay-esque action sequences sprinkled with some plot. It's honestly getting annoying.

Come to think of it, I get the feeling that GI Joe: Renegades is kind of unfortunate in getting set up against My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The former is an exceptional cartoon, from everything I've seen of it, but it's been overshadowed by our favorite little ponies. Bad timing, Duke.

I haven't seen much of Transformers Prime, so I can't make any proper judgments about it, but... well, at the least, you can't fault the actors involved. I saw a short clip of Frank Welker and Peter Cullen on Youtube today, and Cullen seemed to be genuinely emotional about the new show, which kind of sets off whatever shortcomings it might have. (If that's the right way to phrase it.)

Keep in mind, it is also a kids show. Mindless action is kind of the call of order.

And frankly, best voice cast since the original.
