I like obscure stuff that only lasted a week, so...bring back Sectaurs, Robotix, and Barnyard Commandos.
I have this idea for the next X-teme Games Gold Medal Event--Bear Tickling. Its like Bull riding but more X-treme! You are timed on how long you can tickle a bear before he attacks you.

I agree that they're better than the live action movies but both these toons feel cheap to me. Transformers has incredibly lifeless backgrounds and the Joe designs lack details.
The character designs. Show seems pretty detailed, but yeah, the characters are kind of stripped down, with washed out colors. Although it has a very Euro look to it. Looks less cheap, more stylistic. Although could have been a bit more exciting in some cases.

Like the bald, one-eyed look on Hawk, though.

They look about as detailed as early seasons of Beavis & Butthead. I mean compare Renegades to Young Justice, and I'd say YJ looks like it cost a crapload more to animate.

Speaking of obscure stuff, anyone remember Galaxy Rangers? Gorgeous animation for its time, kick ass theme song and introduced one of the coolest cartoon character of all time - Shane "Goose" Gooseman.

That abomination that they have now is not Polly Pocket, it's Mini-Barbie.

I would kill for a Monster in My Pocket series, too.

Regardless of anyone's opinion on the designs/art direction, Prime had some pretty awesome animation quality for a CG TV show.

Yeah, but a bunch of extra lines to animate doesn't necessarily make anything better or worse. Although if you look at the backgrounds and vehicles and such, a lot more detail.

Nuh-uh! I just really like stuff from the '90s too. I was born in '82 and grew up in the period where the '80s and the '90s intersected.

That means that the really big thing from my youth was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but the Turtles have had a pretty good showing already so I'm okay with letting that one go for a little while so that some more obscure properties can get reimagined.

Yeah, but I think the mini-playset idea was something that's kind of come and gone. It's better to try and reimagine the characters in a different form than redo something that won't work anymore.

I can imagine Max, Norman, Virgil and Skull Master as regular sized action figures (or a little smaller) if that's what it comes down to.

I would kill for a Monster in My Pocket series, too.
I loved those, but they weren't as popular here as they were overseas. They'd have to do better than that unsold pilot they had back in the day, though.

One of the cool things with kids' stuff in the '90s was that there was a strong horror trend going. That's something I could get into.

I agree. I am DVR'ing every new episode to look at the high quality animation alone. It's worth it.

Although speaking of design, the mouth on Optimus looks really, really creepy. His face is completely smooth when the mouth shield is down.

I just caught the first three episodes of G.I. Joe: Renegades, as well as the first five episodes of Transformers: Prime this past weekend, and I have to say, while I enjoyed them both, they weren't without their flaws, either.

G.I. Joe was entertaining enough, but the animation is pretty bad. Not the style, which I think is pretty good, but the animation itself. It's pretty jerky at times, which can be distracting. I like the characters and plot well enough, however, as well as the voice cast. I'm also immensely glad to see Lady Jaye is part of the team; she was always my favorite Joe as a kid.

As for Transformers, I'm not too thrilled they've seemingly used the films heavily for their inspiration, at least in terms of character models. I absolutely hate that Bumblebee can't talk, too, but instead does that irritating whistling and beeping nonsense from the films. The kids aren't annoying, though, at least, and are in fact all surprisingly likable, I thought. Miko was probably the most likely to annoy, but her gung-ho attitude actually made her the most endearing of the human characters in my mind.

However, as someone who grew up as a fan primarily of the Decepticons (largely due to having an older brother who had already called dibs on all of the cool Autobots), I was extremely disappointed with their representation on the show. Megatron is awesome, of course, but Starscream is too smarmy and not enough of an outright backstabbing jerk, in my opinion. Meanwhile, Soundwave may as well be another faceless drone, and I hate absolutely the drones as a concept. It doesn't help matters that all of the Decepticons have generic, "futuristic" or whatever vehicle modes. Now maybe kids like that stuff these days, but I know when I was younger I always preferred the robots which turned into something I could see when I walked outside, and I still do.

So if they add some more noteworthy Decepticons to the roster and improve all of their vehicle modes, that will go a long way in improving my opinion on the show. The plot is sound enough, and the voice cast is good, but the little things are distracting enough that they've taken away from what I think would otherwise be a terrific show. Having said that, though, and of course having only the first five episodes to serve as a comparison, I happen to prefer Transformers: Animated to Prime so far, a show that was horribly underrated simply due to its stylized art. Prime will hopefully have enough episodes and time to change my opinion of it for the better, however.

I actually like GI joe and the new transformers. It feels like Prime and Megatron are fully realize in this series and I don't mind the humans this time around.

    Mighty Max, Gargoyles,
Sadley I doubt this will happen. The Conan Animates series would be awsome too.
