Stunning as always, and any doubts about Williams and Haden scripting this title have been put ENTIRELY to rest. In just five pages you've got a deft mix of character, recap and cool forward progession. This is gonna be an top tier title, again.

So does this double as the Preview/Discussion thread as well?

Jim and I plotted out two years worth of issues, which breaks down into four or five different arcs, so “Batwoman” #0 really kicks everything off.
one of the things that we did have as one of our rules as we were working on the plotting was, how can we change every kind of vigilante trope on its ear? So every time we came up to something that was, for example, a sidekick, we thought, “How can we switch this up?” We tried to do that with all the kinds of trappings of a vigilante comic, but I have to say, I’m most excited about what we’re doing with Bette Kane.
...very interesting comments from Haden Blackman

Well I think this certainly clears up whether the writing is going to be comparable in quality to the art. Looking forward to it.

Great interview and wonderful looking preview art. At this late stage I was starting to think we would not see any art beforehand. Williams and Reeder's art meshes really well together on that 2 page spread.

I really hope that this creative team can pull through and stay aboard the book with the proposed 2 years worth of story plots. Definitely interested in seeing what other villains they have cooked up and for Flamebird to step up into the spotlight.

I just cannot believe how good the Bat titles are right now. This looks so damn good. Inc, DC and Batwoman are looking to be three of the best titles from the Big 2.

I should probably get a second copy of this tomorrow as I'm sure I'll be drooling all over it when I first see the art.

If Williams puts even half as much thought into writing as he does to drawing, and is a quarter as good, this book is going to ROCK.

    W. Haden Blackman wrote the story for The Force Unleashed. I hope he writes comics better than he writes video games.

Still picking the book up though.

I drool over JH Williams III art. Dynamic page layouts that function well ... there's almost an Art Deco look to them. I am superpsyched for this book!

This is not a bad idea - Batwoman 0 looks like an almost perfect book to give to the un-initiated. Amazing art, intruiging character, Batman brand name recognition, accessible writing style and zero previous knowledge required. I thought the same of the original run and gave a copy of the trade to a female tattoo artist I know, simply on the hunch that she'd get a kick out of the artwork. Since then she's asked me about comics a couple of times and I've lent her some Vertigo books. Maybe I need to buy three of these
