The Best There Is At What I Do
Fox clearly knows they've dropped the ball with their Marvel properties since X-Men 2 and is desperate to make up for it while they've still got the rights.

They're not going to do recasting because this movie will take place in the same universe with XMOW.
I'm just going to pretend then that the first Wolverine film never happened. LOL
I wish they could have fetched a real talent like this for their first Wolverine go-around. Of course, I think back to what Ang Lee did to Hulk and start to worry a bit. I hope Aronofsky hits it out of the ballpark the same way Nolan did with his property. Deeper, more auteur film than your average superhero property but still appreciating the popcorn essence of the character.
A real talent? You mean Oscar winning director Gavin Hood wasn't talented? It wasn't Hood's fault that the first Wolverine movie was shite. It was the micromanaging by Fox execs who know nothing about making movies and an absolutely terrible script.
But it does actually seem like Fox have turned a corner. They have realized that, you know, trying to make great products is the best way to run a business long term.
With Matthew Vaughn on First Class, Adam Berg in talks to direct the Deadpool movie and it's amazing script and now Aronofsky for Wolverine? Yea, seems Fox have finally woken up. Probably to do with that prick Tom Rothman not being directly in charge of 20th Century Fox anymore.
The title is perfect. Exactly how he was introduced in Incredible Hulk.
If only the next Batman movie had taken the same approach. "The Dark Knight Rises?" Ugh. "The Batman." Cool beans.
Gavin Hood winning an Oscar doesn't make him talented or even that good.
I know the Oscars are steeped in political bullshit... but he deserved to win it. Tsotsi was brilliant and he is talented. But when you have studio execs like Tom Rothman breathing down your neck and telling you what you can and cannot do... and a truly abysmal script to work with... you ain't gonna get a good movie.
