I didn't really have an opinion on this before, as i assumed this thing was free - but the app costs $2.99. If cbr implemented it then people who didnt have the app may feel obliged to buy it. So although it would be good for you folks that have the app already, it's putting pressure on the rest of us to hand over cash to an unrelated company or feel like we would be missing out on the cbr mobile experience.
Your joking, right? Its an app to make browsing easier on android/Iphone devices. If you don't want the app then don't buy it. It has no impact on anyone not buying it browsing the forum as they do. if you want to browse easier you pay the 3 bucks. Cheaper than one comic book and you own it.
I don't think it's CBR's job to provide content for an app that expects you to pay for the privilege of using it.
That's like saying companies shouldn't have automated menus when you call into them because some people don't have touch tone phone and would feel obligated to purchase one. The Site would work just the same as it does now, it'd just have more options for those that would like to browse from a mobile device.
I know the lack of a good mobile option means this site see a whole lot less traffic from me than other sites that I visit that do have a mobile options.

An interesting argument. Who paid for the computer that you're reading the CBR forums on, I wonder? Don't you also have to pay for your internet access as well? Why should CBR provide content for a system that expects you to pay for the privilege of accessing it?(Even if you're accessing the CBR forums from work, someone paid/is paying for you to have the privilege.)
The Tapatalk app is an add-on that anyone using the forums via a PC/Mac won't even know is there. Only if you access the forums via a handheld device web browser will you get a prompt that the forum is Tapatalk enabled but you can just Cancel and ignore it if you want.
Speaking as administrator of another vBulletin forum, it genuinely puzzles me that there seems to be some (any?) resistance to implementing this add-on. Do the CBR forums not utilise any additional add-ons/modifications to the standard vBulletin software to make for a more user-friendly experience?

What the latest or is this just never gonna happen?
As stated above, the mobile option of VB 4.0 is being weighed.
They don't care. With the mobile phone and even Ipad market just going bonkers I'm also having a tough time on the resistance to TapaTalk. This should be a no brainer.
vbulletin mobile product? That isn't free either for the user for the posters that are bent about spending three bucks. I did check that out as well before I bought Tapatalk. I rather pay for the app that handles many flavors of forum and not a proprietary one.
