what series do you want to see collections of put out by marvel?
A prestige style format Captain Marvel Vol. I Issues #50-#62, with Marvel Spotlight #1-#4, #8...this features the Eagle award winning run by Doug Moench & Pat Broderick that could have saved the franchise (after some lackluster runs by Milgrom and Englehart post Starlin) had the decision to martyr the character to launch the Marvel Graphic Novel prestige format. It chronicles what would have been the next evolution of the character that seperated Captain Marvel from Rick Jones and saw him become wandering the earth, his new home as his own total individual, it also had the uneasy alliance between him and classic Drax the destroyer (the intelligent and extremely powerful and pissed off version). Maybe throw in some other appearances, like Marvel Two in One Annual #2, DD #109, various hostess ads, the works.
The period often goes overlooked, but it really is a hidden gem. The Deathgrip saga, and the battle with Thor, great, great stuff...it was just getting somewhere.
The cover art of what would have been Captain Marvel #63 was put on the cover of Comic Reader.
Apparently, there was a movement not to axe the character, but they needed someone big to bite it, I understand it, but comics, especially cosmic related have come a long way since then, one can only imagine what they could do with the character now after the success of the recent mini by Reed & Weeks, which met success.
The Ghost of Captain Marvel, his spirit is channeled through in a crow meets spectre kind of thing, there's a lot of cool things they could do.
However, back to the question...I'd like to see them continue the Captain Marvel hardcover color collections to include this run, problem is you have to go through some stuff before #50, (the current ones only cover up to CM #34) the CM #50-62 run is great and I grab it in a second where it to get that format treatment.
There's a period in the #40 something issues where it was hit or miss, some people, although talented didn't real grasp a hold of the character till Moench came along, and by then the suits and ties had already turned on the Captain. It's not an easy character to write, it's a very complex thing, but when it's right, there's nothing like it. Actually that's what I've been told, but it's actually a copout in a way, there's so many different and cool stories you can tell with a character like that.
Reed did an awesome job, love to see the writer's now do it.

I recently reread the entire run of WCA and except for the Englehart & some of the Byrne issues, its largely unreadable IMO.![]()
What I'd like to see collected are some of the licensed properties that can't be reprinted, due to copyright:
Shang-Chi: Master of Kung-Fu
Rom Spaceknight
Transformers
I'd even say GI Joe, but IDW are now reprinting those!![]()

What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
Aside from Gen X...
Excalibur Visionaries: Warren Ellis
Sensational She-Hulk (Bryne's complete run)
Spider-Man: Clone Saga Epic
X-Force Classic
X-Force/New Warriors: Childs Play
New Warriors Classic (which is coming, but those Classic tpbs are so slow!)
X-Men: Muir Island Saga
Avengers: The Crossing
AWC/Force Works
Wolverine Visionaries: Larry Hama
X-Men: Mutant Genesis vol. 2 (the rest of Lee's run)
Uncanny X-Men: Mutant Genesis (the start of the gold team/coming of Bishop)
Thunderbolts Classic
I'd ideally love to see all of Uncanny and X-Men in TPB.

Does anybody at Marvel's trades department read these threads? If so, howcome nobody published a collection of the Crossroads saga from Hulk when Planet/World War Hulk came out? The timing would have been perfect.
Anyway, Hulk: Crossroads Saga, collecting Incredible Hulk #301-313, Annual 12, and Alpha Flight #29. And I guess the Nightmare storyline that preceded it with #292-300.
