Check it out here.
I didn't want to spoil this too much for myself so I didn't look at the art but man am I excited, October 17 can't come soon enough.
Dave Stewart has posted a glimpse of 1948 #1:

I really hope we get to see the classic B.P.R.D. logo on this story. I kinda miss it.
Issue #4 cover, which was previewed a bit a few pages back in this thread.

In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power... Green Lantern's light
This Wednesday is going to be fantastic, I've been waiting for this story for awhile now and its release date is now nearly upon us!
Man, what a great issue! I loved seeing little Hellboy, both in the scene where he's smoking and in the picture of him at an even younger age on the professor's desk.
About the only complaint I had was the placement of the prologue. Perhaps it'll work as a prologue after we see a few more issues but just based on this issue alone it din't really work in that capacity, it made the beginning feel a little choppy with it being set in 1948, then a flash forward to the 1980's and then back to 1948. I think it would have flowed much better if it started with the scene in the 80's then continued on in 1948 perhaps moving the prologue to just before we see the professor in the car.
Other then that though? One hell of a read.
This sounds like a film editor talking
After such a long time waiting for 1948 I read this first issue with much anticipation. It didn't disappoint me at all. Great art, great story, I loved every bit of it. I keep on going back to these panels. It was long ago I didn't feel this happy about a comic book![]()
