He's been busy since The Return of the Master, so it's possible we may get two stories in a row from him.
...unless they shift to a bimonthly schedule, which Scott Allie has been hinting they might, in which case suddenly everyone will be working on their stories well in advance!

Thanks Middenway. Where did this get announced?
I believe Middenway utilizes some arcane set of rituals to extract this forbidden knowledge from the aether.
I fear for the fate of his mortal soul, but it's pretty much too late to do anything at this point, so...
He has stared into the abyss and the abyss has stared back into him.
We should speak no more of this...
No secret rituals this time. Just Twitter. It'll probably get formally announced in a month or two.
B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth: Lake of Fire
Hell on Earth: Lake of Fire
Lake of Fire
Fire
. . .
Ok, now, am I reading to much into this, or is it possible that the word Fire in the title is a clue that it's the story Liz returns in? I mean they did say she would be coming back.
The cover for issue 1 by Rafael Albuquerque:

Description of first issue.
"As Liz Sherman fights for her life in a Utah hospital, the B.P.R.D. sends a recon team into the no-man’s land that used to be New York City, and the young psychic Fenix encounters a monster-worshiping cult at the Salton Sea."
LIIIZZZZZZZZ!!! Oh man, I hope she ends up ok...
For some weird reason, Liz returning makes me worry for Kate. As Panya said in "The Dark and the Terrible", Kate is starting to crack under the pressure she is in. And Liz is uniquely equipped in heading the BPRD. She is a former field agent and a former "special". Along with Kate she is the older member of the BPRD team and is a much more aggressive person than Kate, which is exactly what the BPRD needs right now. However, she is unstable.
Also, a question. If I remember correctly, Kate was the "special's liason" in the BPRD, with Manning heading the Department. However, we haven't seen Manning since the beginning of Hell on Earth arc and, besides Johann there are no specials left in BRPD. Also, it seems that Kate has the general command of operations, since she is the one who suspends members or sends others to mission.
So, what is going on?
This is probably the one Mignola-verse story arc that I'm most looking forward to this year
I was wondering that, Manning has been mentioned a few times in HOE but I can't remember him turing up at all. Although it seems Kate is doing loads and loads of work I guess we have to imagine he's wrapped up doing lots of political stuff that doesn't directly affect the frontline missions we see in the comics.
What exactly is Panya up to anyway!? One of these days when none of us expect it, I reckon her storyline will mushroom out of nowhere like Damio's did and I can't wait to see what happens!
Kate was the special liason for the enhanced talents taskforce, but she was promoted to operations director at the end of King of Fear, I think. I'll have to check to be sure. And given that the B.P.R.D. is now a global organisation, I'd say Manning is rarely back at base and spending a lot more time at the U.N.
I'm so impatient for a Panya story. And I want to see her walk! We know it's coming, and I'm expecting it sooner rather than later.
I don't see Liz as a leader though. Sometimes she's downright defensive and...not very tolerating, I guess? Her earlier relationship with Daimio pretty much proves it.
Beside you need someone to handle to nitty gritty stuff like giving out missions to different teams/grunts/recruits and talking with UN representatives/Russia S.S.S.
If she does return, her best place would be shooting fireballs in the warzones.
But Kate is definitely losing it under all these pressures. And that guy from UN is even worse, not helping at all.
