    Default 31 Days of Abe

Abe Sapien was a major player in B.P.R.D. until in Gods #3 (March 2011) he got shot and has been out of action ever since. This month he's back, starting with A Cold Day in Hell #1 and then in his own ongoing series starting with Dark and Terrible. The team at Multiversity thought that after a two-year absence, this was worth celebrating, so this March is going to be 31 Days of Abe.

Along with all the latest Abe Sapien news, we have a ton of interviews with artists and writers that have worked with Abe over the years. We also have various artists (including Tyler Crook, Joe Querio, Patrick Reynolds and more) doing their own take on the Abe Sapien character, one every day this month (Look for the first in about an hour). And we want to see your take on the character too. We're running an art contest, The Evolution of Abe Sapien, with the winning receiving all the Hellboy Library Editions for them and their local comic book store.

On top of this, there's all the usual Mignolaversity reviews and columns. Check it out. It's awesome.

To kick things off here's Talkin’ Abe Sapien with Scott Allie.

I have been awaiting the return of Abe for quite some time... and so far his return looks REALLY impressive... and 31 days of Abe? Awesome.

Tyler Cook nailed it with that new drawing! Hopefully we will get to see mignola draw the "new" Abe again some time. I like the new "east coast fisherman" look with the turtleneck sweater and peacoat!

Whoa, I like how mr Tyler incorporated the rather ectothermic or amphibious turtleneck both as the very "icthyo" - supple yet dehydrative - leather jacket onto Abe.

    Great stuff.
Been called a 'good egg'. Been told to rock, been told to steady myself. Been told to (please) be goin' places.
Chillingly good stuff besides Mignola, Slint, M, Knut and really big chunks of tinfoil?
Half sunk in the mud, with one eye showing / a cracked smile and hair still growing /
your hands miles apart, as if they'd never met / you were the happiest I'd seen you yet

I expect the earliest we'll see Mike Mignola's take on the new Abe will be cover for the next Abe Sapien trade early next year.

I can't wait for you guys to see what else is coming this month. I've seen some of the upcoming Abe pics... It's so cool.

I really would love to see a series of covers by Tyler Crook in this style. I hope he can do it some time.

That James Harren piece is SOOOO good. He deserves another crack at drawing Abe... maybe a fill-in issue?
