Default CBR: Ennis Finds "Blood" at Dynamite

Creator Garth Ennis will tell the tale of "Jennifer Blood," a housewife and mother by day and vigilante at night, at Dynamite Entertainment. The series, with Tim Bradstreet covers, launches in February, 2011.

I'm assuming that "Tim Sale painting the main covers" is a mistake... I hope the Bradstreet covers aren't incentives, anyway.

Default Ennis Finds "Blood" at Dynamite

Will JENNIFER BLOOD out-punish PUNISHER? Ennis hasn't done a book with a female protagonist for a while. Hopefully this will be good.

This must be what this article was referring to. You can see more of Adriano Batista's work at his deviantART page.

And it will be 50% advertisements. But it's Garth Ennis so I can forgive those transgressions.

Whats so new about that ? Few series cost 2.99 these days. Inflatation, higher prices is excepted these days.

You cant let one dollar extre in the way if you like the writer.

Nothing is new about it. Dynamite always charges 3.99, thus my comment. You might accept these prices due to "inflation" but I still don't enjoy bending over and taking it from comic publishers.

what i've noticed, is that red sonja and queen sonja used to be $2.99, now they are $3.99.
however, i love the titles so the cost will not deter me.

but why the price raise? does anyone have the answer?

Same with The Boys. They do it because they can, we still buy the books.

Garth Ennis seems to always heavily favor a single central protagonist (or viewpoint) in the stories I've read (Punisher Max being the only one I've ended up reading a good proportion of but feel that I've managed to get an impression). When someone messes with his central protagonists you know what the outcome is going to be. I'm surprised to see that he's using a central female protagonist. I'm guessing it's probably to keep it different than some of the other characters he's written. I wonder if this character will be like O'Brian seen in the Punisher Max series?

"I've been writing such grim, serious stuff for so long now that I fancied having some fun again," says writer Garth Ennis. "Pitch-black fun, yes, but fun all the same. Hence Jennifer Blood."
Well scratch that. Doesn't sound like this'll have the Max feel to it.

I dont take it from comic publishers either but i only follow good creators and if their work isnt worth the price it doesnt matter if it is 3 or 4 dollars. I have never checked the price of Dynamite comics because i have only bought Ennis comics from them and he is my fav writer.

If i think ooh this is 3.99 its too much then im dumping the series because its not worth its price. Im no welthy 20-30 comics buyer, im a student who can only afford to buy the best comics.

He has done many other female characters than O'Brian.

Pitch black humour sounds like he is doing a female lead version of Hitman. Thats his dark humour masterwork in many fans POV.

Good we are not getting grim, dark again.

It seems to me that pretty much all of his comics have sadistic/twisted humor behind them.
