Sally field is a great actress, and she still looks just freakin' incredible. That said, she doesn't strike me as the Aunt May type. She will have the completely lovable and wonderful quality going for her, but physically she doesn't even come close to resembling May.
Rosemary Harris was pitch perfect as May, she had the look and the acting chops. They need to not worry about casting big names as much as people that better fit the roles.

She looks too young for Aunt May and she looks damned good for her age too.
Just checked and according to IMDB, she is 65. And she looks better than some women 10 years younger than her. 60+ isn't what it used to be.

Yeah I don't know about her. But with them doing the Ultimate Spidey thing they may want younger. She still needs white hair though.
y'know I can see this working as a Ultimate version of Aunt May, less doddery old grandmother and more sister of Peter's mother
She could easily pull this off, she played a grandma in Forest Gump.
Sally Field would be a great choice. She plays sweet and motherly brilliantly. And even if she plays Aunt May a little younger, that would be fine. Peter's parents were fairly young when they died, so Uncle Ben and Aunt May have always been portrayed as being older than they realistically should be. Based on the characters in the comics, Uncle Ben looks like he could have been 20 years older than Peter's father, which would be pretty unusual.
She looked convincing enough in some scenes in Forest Gump, and that was what, 16 years ago? If she looked the part then I don't see why she couldn't pull it off now.
