So is the series done after issue #6 or will there be a #7?
They're keeping very quiet on the topic, but my guess is there won't be a H&M #7 or a Black Widow #9. HOWEVER, they are strongly hinting at a continuation in some form of both Hawkeye & Mockingbird and Black Widow stories after Widowmaker finishes. In what form that will be I don't know. People have suggested a new 'Solo Avengers' series, but maybe it will be some oddity like a Marvel Team Up etc.? I don't know. I SOUNDS like they will be combining the series's but even that's just a guess.
I really hope Widowmaker does well, and then maybe Hawkeye, Mockingbird and Black Widow gets a new ongoing series.
Fingers crossed!![]()
Top 10: Hawkguy, GIJoe Cobra, The Massive, Daredevil, Wonder Woman, Fury MAX, The Black Beetle, Batman, Winter Soldier, Suicide Squad, and The Activity.
Well, I am still on board and am not getting off anytime soon. H&M is my favorite book, as nothing can beat the writing and the art together. I hope that Widowmaker might make bring H&M back from the ledge, but McCann's comments give me hope that I will still get to see him writing H&M and Lopez drawing it somewhere.
They won't do West Coast Avengers. Brevoort has said a few times that he thinks the concept of Avengers teams for both coasts is silly, especially when they don't ever seem to be geographically confined.
Why the hell couldn't they just publish "Widowmaker" in H&M #7 - 8 and Black Widow #9 - 10?!
The obvious answer is a last minute cash grab from the fans of two sinking ships. Given the fact that their pricing practices are already a sore spot among fans, you'd think they'd be a little more sensitive. Guess not.
That said, I'd love a revived Avengers West Coast, but only if Bendis is kept far, far away from it! And it's not $3.99.
We get the same characters, the same creative team, the same number of pages... only the title is different; so why did Marvel up the price to $3.99?
<Sigh>
If the price increase is Marvel's idea of "thanking" the loyal readers of this not-quite-but-canceled-anyway title, they are dumber than I thought. When are they going to understand that their books are not worth $4 a pop? Get real!
I'm sad this book is ending, though not surprised. Marvel's starting, canceling, renumbering, renaming, recycling of books is way out of control. And it's driving readers like me away. I'm down to 2 monthlies now that I'm dropping Hawkeye & Mockingbird with issue #6. Oh well, plenty of other choices in the marketplace!
