Good X-position. Who will be the former students returning!!??
This is a terrible idea. The 'solo title with a rotating cast' doesn't work- it's frustrating for everyone whose supporting character rotates out for months on end and annoying even for fans of the main character to see them built up at the expense of others. Someone force him to write a team book again!Probably not the first, Renaldo, but definitely the second. The idea with "Legacy" is to keep it as a rotating solo book with – in effect – rotating team support. In other words, we focus on one protagonist at a time, for a period of maybe a year and a half to two years, while at the same time making full use of the huge and rich supporting cast that the X-Men books have built up over the years. So at some point, Rogue will rotate out as main POV character, but we'll still see her in the supporting cast as we did during the time when it was Professor X's book.
I'm disappointed that my 'Isn't it completely inappropriate to attempt to pair Rogue off with a guy who mind raped her 13 years ago' question wasn't asked, because I wasn't shit stirring. I want to know how they think that's okay.

Love it. Hopefully he kills Blindfold once and for all.

Yeah, that kind of question is disrespectful toward Professor Carey. He's perfectly capable of judging what is appropriate or inappropriate storytelling without the help of an amateur. He's primarily a horror writer, and Rogue being attracted to her rapist IS appropriate.
I'm glad that the normal Professor Carey X Position tradition has been resumed with a request for Lady Mastermind. Really curious about Age of X now.

It's not appropriate in an X-book. I understand that there are some very complicated people out there, but nobody in a mainstream comic book should go out with their (mind) rapist. And I don't think the X-Office sees it that way, I think they're hoping everyone's forgotten about that.
PAD's got Monet and Jubilee's a vampire so all he's got to play with are Paige and Chamber. Maybe Chamber can have a whinging contest with Indra.Generation XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I kind of assumed he'd be assimilating the title into the Legacy stable for a while.I wonder if Carey is replacing Wells?

Legacy is great and I'd rather have that than Carey-less x-books, but COME ON MARVEL!!! What does it take to get this man writing the flagship title and steering the franchise the way he should be?
Why does Helion get nice prosthetic hands and Karma gets the ugly, rubbishy leg?

Who is going to be the next solo star of Legacy? Danielle Moonstar.
I'm always glad to hear Mike Carey get some screen time with X-POSITION, but this one had an extra nugget that made it extra awesome. He finally mentioned Ms Sinister! It's been quite a while since anyone with the Sinister surname showed up in the X-comics. You would think that with new mutants emerging, he/she would find some reason to become active again. I really hope we see her/him in 2011! It doesn't sound like Carey would be writing that story, but I hope it happens in a top level book like Uncanny or X-men!
I'm also somewhat skeptical of Age of X now. If it's supposed to be so big yet self-contained, then what's the point? It sounds like it will be in the same spirit as the Onslaught Returns story that came out a few years ago or the Phoenix Endsong/Warsong series. It seems like the X-men's plate is pretty crowded at the moment so I'm really not sure what they'll do with this anymore, but I'm still willing to give it a chance. I hope we get some more details by the holidays.
Either way, it was a better than average X-POSITION and I always look forward to Mike Carey's new work!![]()
