During an interview Bashiok (sp?) said that no store will know release date until they make an official release and that they can not stop a store from making up a date. Best buy has been told to take the poster down by a GM (I am guessing this stands for General Manager.).

It may make you happy Surtur that the word is they plan to release Diablo 3 on Consoles as well, it probably will be a while though, not at the same release time as pc.

I don't know this, but i bet that was an order from Activision and Blizzard is pissed about it.

If it was actually coming out in three weeks there would have been an official announcement by now.

The poster was definately made by Best Buy and not Blizzard.

I think the ideal was that they would be the first to advertise a pre-order and they would get a larger share of pre-orders and then if the guessed upon date is wrong they would just re-arrange the date and still hold onto the pre-order money until the game was released. They invest that money into a savings account and pull down compounded interest on money that isn't really theirs.

And some guy in an office will pull down a large christmas bonus this year.

I'm always iffy of claims of PC games coming to consoles. Ever since they said "The Witcher" would be on the 360 and then it wasn't. I hope the same doesn't happen with the sequel.

That said, I'm hoping Diablo 3 does indeed come to the 360.

To be totaly fair to them, it was someone from Blizzard who said they are interested in bringing it to consoles.

And you gotta figure, they are making whats sure to be the best selling pc game of the next year, why wouldn't they port it?

I agree, Im always iffy about this as well. However it has been confirmed that D3 will def be on consoles (though it has not been said which) as well as PC. And honestly, I would worry a little more if it weren’t for the fact that Diablo was on Playstation. So hopefully with the experience they had with the first one, they wont eff this up :X


But oh how I wish it really was Feb 1sst …. Last article I read was an interview with Blizz reps dated a few days ago. The way they were talking made it sound like the release date was at least months away? :( I s’pose we’ve all been waiting for about 10 years at this point, so what’s another :P

I’ve been in beta for D3 for awhile, and that’s just making waiting worse because its everything hoped it would be so far :O

Blizzard has announced a release date for Diablo III for May 15th, the deal for free Diablo III in exchange for promising to play WoW for a year ends May 1st.

This game actually looks alright, I didn't really get involved with Diablo or Diablo 2. I'll give it a go since I signed the deal for the one year Wow sub

I have to say that occaisionally I still pull out Diablo 2 and play it once in a while, even compared to todays games its still one of the best games.

I think we should all be thankful for the gap between the releases of DIII and Skyrim.

I think we should be thankful it's going to have real, honest to god hotkeys.
It could be a prettier D2 with hotkeys and i would be calling it game of the year.

I thought Diablo 2 did have hot keys? I remember being able to assign abilities to the F1, F2, etc. keys. I'm also pretty sure I was able to set potions to the number keys.
