It's definitely awesome that Steel's getting some time in the limelight.
Had an cool idea the other day. Why not let John mentor Static? Virgil's very much a science guy and John's a certified genius. It makes much more sense than a Black Lightning/Static mentorship. Plus, it'll be fun to see how Virgil interacts with Natasha, who by the way, deserves to get her armor back.

Hm.
I think I like the armor colored a lighter gray, like on the cover.
And, yes...have him mentor Static.
I have some very specific ideas on what I'd like to see done with Steel, and I'm hoping Steve Lyons has some similar ideas. His background in sci fi and his looking towards the Morrison JLA issues certainly makes me hopeful, along with this idea of Steel being a self made man.
Fighting supervillains isn't necessarily what I think Steel should be about, or at least not simple "metallo angry, on rampage" type supervillains, but with the limitations of a single issue I have to admit that it'd be hard to do anything that I think would be interesting.
I love how the Superman editors are reeling in the British sci-fi crowd. Who else can write Superman-related books these days?

I respect his enthusiasm about the character. It's cool that DC is reaching out to people who at least seem like they care about the characters and have a solid idea for what they want to do or where they're going with the character.

I'm excited about this and have always liked Steel, so hopefully good things will come from this. Also, I would love for Natasha to lose her current powers and go back to using her suit of armor.
I think a team-up between Steel and Natasha along with Hardware and Static would be cool to read.
