Questionnairo: Huntress and Vic Sage's son. He uses a compact crossbow like his mom, but seeks to find out answers like his dad. He has a kevlar suit akin to Huntress' (her colors and such) underneath his father's old trenchcoat. He also has a modified version of Question's mask stuff.
I like that one, I was trying to think of an offspring for the Question and couldn't. Nice job, great imagery.

Default Congratulations! A Winner Is You!

I forgot to say congratulations everyone for bringing this thread past 1000 posts! Thank you to everyone who participates here, thanks to XFactor for starting this thread over a year ago, thanks to Dr. Cheesesteak who ran it for a while before I "took the reins", and thanks for bringing so much creativity to something we all enjoy! Let's see if we can make it to 2000!

My picks are coming as soon as I can get the time to make them.

-Existing established relationships/marriages are allowed (Green Arrow & Black Canary, Ralph & Sue Dibny, etc.), but if someone's already used one don't "fix" it. What are we, Reddit?
-Batman & Catwoman/Poison Ivy/Talia (which already exists) are banned right out. Too easy (and I just don't like Catwoman/Ivy/Talia).
The JLA of the future faces certain doom. And all I can do is bounce this to the top of the list.

Core members Batman (Damian Wayne), Green Arrow (Connor Hawke), Flora (Tefe Holland), and Fauna (Maxine Baker) come up with a plan. They must go back in time and tweak couples so there are many more heroes that can be recruited. The following heroes have come about:

Quark, (Lonwyn Palmer) son of Laethwyn and Ray Palmer, he has a natural size like that of his mother, but he can shrink every smaller than his father could based on the white dwarf material in his system (he was conceived while his father was small) and when well-rested can enlarge his size to that of a normal human, but with great difficulty.
Z, (Zoe Zatara), daughter of John Constantine and Zatanna, she was conceived from a foolish evening with Zatanna and Constantine. Because Constantine had angered (POed) so many demons, they hid the baby from both parents and made it so the parents did not know the child, but the child had memories of being raised by both parents. Z has magical powers less than that of her mother, but she can handle people like her father.
Superboy, (Thomas Wayne III), daughter of Earth 3's Superwoman and Owlman, as Thomas grew up, there was an annoying street of good in him. Instead of killing him as Lois demanded, Thomas Jr. worked some trickery and sent the child (then 3 yrs old) to the main DC earth. The boy has early Superman level and style powers.
Freeze, (Kari Olafsdotter), daughter of Ice and Guy Gardner, she has both her mothers powers and some control over the green energy her father used during conception. We'd explain it, but this isn't an adult book. Because of her abilities to use energy with the green power and dispel energy with her cold in addition to her control over water with making ice, she is possibly the most powerful of the crew. Both Flora and Fauna treat her with respect as they believe she may be approached to become a water elemental by the Blue, the Earth's water force.

Sorry I'm late again, guys. Things have been a little rocky for me again lately. I have class all morning so I'll try and have a new theme up by tonight.

Okay, boys and girls, a little bit of housekeeping before I post the theme:

    1. I'm going to be pretty busy over the next few weeks, so bear with me if I'm running a little behind on the thread. I'll do my best to put up a new thread on Sundays but it's possible that I may miss one or two. ANYWAY:

    2. Keeping track of which user-submitted ideas we've already used is getting a little confusing for me especially with the new makeover. I do have the list still but finding the ones that have already been used is difficult for me. Would there be any objections to starting over with a new slate of ideas? I apologize if you submitted an idea that didn't get chosen; they weren't passed over, no idea is a bad idea, the ideas were chosen at random and unfortunately we just didn't get to it.

Anyway, I've rambled long enough: This week's theme comes from the depths beneath Gotham City... It's The Evening Of The Owls!

Your mission is to craft your own Court of Owls using a combination of Bat-villains and DCU assassins. Who knows how deep this mystery goes?

The only rules are that your choices can't have more than 3 central Bat-villains, no Joker, and no Ra's al Ghul to make things more challenging.

I'll resend all mine upon my return to internet land (whenever that is).

I'd probably use many of the same characters from my Batman: Arkham whatever idea I had awhile ago...

    1. Prometheus- A major grudge against Batman and Catwoman, he would and should be a major threat.
    2. Hush- This time, the team-up between the two won't be lame and feature vastly out of character villains...
    3. Deathstroke- He's beaten Bruce before, can likely do so again.
    4. Wrath- The anti-Nightwing should be given more chances to shine.
    5. Harley Quinn- An Arkham representative should be present. She wants to impress both Ivy and Mister J by helping to eliminate Bats... but Mistah J will likely react badly, seeing as he wasn't involved...
    6. Zoom II- Really, there's nothing Batman can do against him without prep. But, perhaps they'll 'play' with Batsy first-- by eliminating his allies... and subsequently playing with Batsy's mind.
    7. Doctor Psycho- Sure, Batsy has psi-blockers in play, but I doubt the police do... or the inmates of Arkham... or, y'know, the citizenry. Need someone more depraved than Joker to set the city into a madhouse? Look no further.
    8. Doctor Polaris- EMPs to short out the computer systems and communications of the city and magnetic power to bring it tumbling down around Batman.
    9. Shadow Thief- someone to sabotage the Batcave and stuff... unless it's protected against shadows and stuff.
    10. Gorilla Grodd- While he may get involved in a more personal manner, his main duty is to intercept any attempt at telepathic communication with the JLA.
    11. Circe- her thing is to keep the city sealed off from intruding heroes or the military or whatever. Batsy and his 'family' are on their own against some powerful forces.
    12. Owlman- the mastermind, who's controlling the court from his Earth. Once done, he'll bring those villains to his world-- where villains succeed-- and take apart Ultraman.
(the bat-centric villains are Harley, Wrath, and Hush. Prometheus and Owlman are JLA, Deathstroke is Titans, and the others should be self-explanatory)

I confess I haven't been keeping up with my Bat-books. Could someone give me some background on the Court of Owls?

Basically, Zembo, Scott Snyder's doing some really freaky **** with people who dress like owls that apparently have been controlling Gotham for centuries.

For the purposes of this theme, think of villains who would be part of a Skull & Bones, Freemason-type secret order.

My Court of Owls (mainly thinkers, they leave the rough stuff to peons). Probably more Bat-centered than needed.
    Court of Owls:
Hugo Strange: His obsession with Batman would make him a natural fit here. To understand the Bat, you must understand his city.
Vandal Savage: I’m not sure there’s a secret cabal he ISN’T a part of anywhere.
Solomon Grundy: While human he was a member in good standing. Now that his mind has come back to a more erudite type, he reassumes his place.
Veronica Cale: While not as much of a heavyweight as Savage, her knowledge of the modern world, skill at manipulation and brilliant mind make her well suited to guide the Court.
Jack Crane: The older brother of the Scarecrow, he was “removed” from the family tree after events caused him to adopt the name of the Savage Skull. My obligatory obscure villain.
Façade: Not officially part of the Court, but he’s so good at mimicking the rich that he’s been able to pass as one of them. The unknown quantity, so to speak.
Power - Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. But it rocks absolutely, too.

Time for a shocking swerve. Mine Court of Owls is:
Kate Kane - secretly evil all along. Who would see that coming?
Alfred - secretly evil all along. Who would see that coming?
Jim Gordon - secretly evil all along. Who would see that coming?
Jason Todd - for teh lulz. No real surprise to anyone, groovy none the less.
Xorn - never actually belonged to the Marvel Universe. Who would see that coming?
Black Mask - employed as the torturer.

Of course, this might be a mostly benevolent society.

Default Theme of the week! Sorry for lateness.

Hey hey hey, kids. It's that time again. I think this theme should be a fun one to do, since everyone likes cartoons.

This week's theme is New DCAU 52 Skidoo!

Your mission is to create a new DC Animated Universe cartoon based on one of the books from the relaunch, including the six new books (Earth 2, Dial H, World's Finest, Batman Incorporated, GI Combat, and The Ravagers) coming out in May as well as the six canceled ones (Static Shock, Blackhawks, Men of War, OMAC, Hawk & Dove, and Mr. Terrific).

    Rules
-New series must not star a character who has been the star of a previous DCAU series. Thus, Batman and Superman are out because they had their own series, the rest of the Justice League is not because they didn't. However, the Justice League as a team is off-limits. Individual members are not.
-Include a core set of villains the hero would face, or if there aren't that many presented yet in the comic series feel free to create some or borrow from other heroes.
-Bonus points for choosing some voice actors for primary characters but not required.

My Court of Owls grouping (Yeah, I'm late. Hope that's OK.)
1: Killer Moth: The first anti-Batman. Long before the Wrath, or Prometheus, or Jason Todd, there was Killer Moth. He's been beaten, laughed at and forgotten. And now he's back, and he's pissed. Taking an invitation from the Court of Owls to upgrade his equipment if he pleads loyalty, he takes the role as an Illegalist Batman for the Mob once more and lights up the Moth Signal one more time.
2: The Eraser: Like Killer Moth, another forgotten Silver Age villain, has now been hired by the Court to make sure their crimes never happened. Like the Calculator, he's hung up the ridiculous suit, preferring a yellow pinstripe suit.
3:Shrike: Reimagined as a sadistic assassin specializing in pikes, halberds, knives and other sticky implements. Serves as chief assassin of the Court that is not a Talon, and also one that is capable at global assassinations. You can't run from the Shrike/ your head will end on his pike...
4: Owlman: Hailing from the parallel world of Qward, Thomas Wayne JR. is the biggest anti-Batman there is. In his world, the Court of Bats has attempted to keep Gotham a good place to live, until he finally stalked them and had them executed for "reckless philanthropy". Now he's come to Earth-Main, looking to keep the corruption of Gotham to his liking. Serves as a general of sorts to the Talons.
5: Black Mask: My prerequisite chief Bat rogue, he serves as the chief interrogationist/torturer for the Court. Little does he know that the Court hate him- while he was high society, he burnt through his money carelously and let power slip through his fingers. Perhaps he will have to team up with an unwitting Batman...?
6: Hugo Strange: Another chief Bat villain, Hugo Strange is the Court's window into Bamtan's mind. To break the Bat they must break the man. But what happens when Strange goes over the edge and begins believing he IS Batman once again? Will he throw a monkey wrench in the Court's plans or just end up squashed beneath their heels?
7: Solomon Grundy: The Court thinks they can mock this former member of high society, to show what happens to those that go up against them- as it is revealed they had a hand in the death of Cyrus Gold. But what they don't know is Grundy's erudite personality from JLA has resurfaced again. He's just biding his time whilst chained up in the Court's labyrinth, waiting for his time to strike...
