Did anybody that was straight, actually like this show? Around my house we called it "The Gayest American Hero". Whenever fanboys cry about stupid shit like Spider-Man's organic webshooters, or crap like that, I wish I could send them back in time to see the kind of shit comicbook show/movies we had to swallow in the old days. I'm always astounded to find out that anyone liked shows like this, or The A-Team, or Knight Rider, or Dukes Of Hazzard. Absolute shit.
Of all the TV shows back then, I found GAH the silliest but also enjoyable on its own, precisely for the aspects J. Cannell points out. I didn't know about the WB suit, though. Wow! The nerve of those people, did they think they owned the rights to EVERY caped superhero!?
However, there was an episode of the series I found spooky: the one where the alien who gave Hinkley the costume basically scolds him and his partner for some mistake and then shows them a room full of REPLACEMENTS for them if they screwed up again. Which made me wonder, did this guy KIDNAP SEVERAL MEN and kept them in stasis just to be the their replacements?? I found that very scary because it made him sound very callous (though since it was revealed that his own race was dead, apparently by their own fault, I understand he might take any means to save us from a similar fate... still, it just feels creepy.)
