There was a story in "Star Wars Tales" where Han Solo meets Quinlan, presumabely post Order 66. However I'm pretty sure that was written before the final Republic issues.

Quinlan most recently was in "Clone Wars", the episodes which had Ziro the Hutt.

Some of Ostrander's other Republic characters do appear in LEGACY but I don't think Vos or any descendants was one of them.

He also had another action figure recently from the Phantom Menace wave earlier this year. (Vos was retroactively in the film undercover in Mos Espa)

Last I heard nobody was allowed anywhere near Quinlan Vos because the Beard was possibiliy interested in the character.

Ostrander has done Star Wars: Legacy since then. And is doing Dawn Of The Jedi right now.

You know one thing that has always bugged me about the Old Republic comic series. For being set back anywhere from 4 to 5 thousand years before the the moives the tech is not that different from the stuff Han and Luke and the gang were using. Its like there were no advancements in any technology in the Star Wars Universe for thousands and thousands of years. I know its a minor nitpick but sometimes it just bugs me.

    I know, right?

You think that's weird, consider the fact that Centerpoint Station was built 1,000,000 BBY.

Perhaps 1,000 years in "Star Wars time" is equivalent to 100 years in "our time" or something. Kinda like dog years.

That's why (if you follow the EU) you see that Luke's New Jedi Order operates far differently than the Jedi Order we see in the prequels.

The Jedi did a great disservice to Anakin Skywalker, and are just as responsible for the birth/creation of Darth Vader as Palpatine was.
It's also how balance was brought to the Force

That's because you need to read "Tales Of The Jedi", where the technology was much different. In "Golden Age Of The Sith" and "Fall Of The Sith Empire", the Jedi had to plug in their Lightsabers to a battery pack. And Hyperspace routes were still be mapped out by pilots willing to risk their lives. In "The Saga Of Nomi Sunrider" and "Dark Lords Of The Sith", there were Hyperspace station ports where ships could stop and refuel, as well as re-calibrate for the next jump What you see in the comics and video games from 2003 on, is a modification to better resemble the films.

That is very insightful. It would be nice if Lucasfilm were to give us television shows and games that were really set in to EARLY days of the Star Wars galaxy sort of like the new comic series 'Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi' for that comic is basically the equivalent of the Biblical Book of Genesis as far as the Star Wars tomes are concerned.

Lucas (Although I'm not sure if his 'heir' Kathleen Kennedy feels the same) has a different view of the Star Wars past backstory (This is supported by dialogue in some of the movies), although many of the ideas in Dawn of the Jedi are based on his early drafts.

Is this the right topic to discuss the Star Wars comic books as well?

I'm a big fan of Star Wars (and the comics) and I'm looking for someone who can help me find my way around the comics.

I got Knights of the Old Republic, The Old Republic, Vader's Quest, Omnibus: Tales of the Jedi 1-2, Omnibus: Quinlan Vos, Dark Empire, Knight Errant 1-2.

I really like the old stories from Tales of the Jedi and Vader's Quest is a great adventure. What comics are alike? And which ones am I really missing out on?

Just get anything written by John Ostrander and you'll do just fine.

Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy was recently released as a Dark Horse hardcover comic. I thought it was a pretty solid adaptation.

I read the novels, but how can they fit in one book? Was anything cut etc.?

But if you say it's good I'm gonna give it a try.

Yeah I've heard that before. Gonna start with Legacy then.
