It's not a bad idea, by any means, but it could be a bit unnecessary; We already get lots of info from the film about what happened between Khan's appearance in the show and his role as lead villain in the film.

It reminds me, somehow, of the 'fill in the blanks' attitude to the Star Wars movies, which, I felt, turned out to be wholly unnecessary; Do we really need to know exactly when Khan lost his wife? Exactly how the remaining crew of the Botany Bay passed? How Khan discovered the slug-like creatures that control people? It just seems unnecessary. Khan was a powerful villain because we saw nothing of him for ages, and it had been fifteen years from his and Kirk's last meeting.

So the art looks good, but I don't know as I'll buy it.

I'll pick it up, but I really hope it doesn't conflict with Greg Cox's version of the same events from the novel "To Reign in Hell".

Love the Tipton's Trek work though.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

Thing with Star Trek continuity is that there are a lot of different versions of similar events in the spin-off media. For instance, there's about a bazillion versions of the first mission with Kirk and crew, as well as their last one before The Motion Picture. It's because there's no set 'canon' apart from the TV show.

Although there have been attempts to harmonize things-Wildstorm's Star Trek comics tied in with the post-TV series DS9 novels.
