The Animated All-Star Superman movie looks terrible. The Animation is garbage. Solaris is a computer animated freakshow.

I knew this was going to happen. The outrage that was the JLA Earth 2 adaption should have been the big clue to everyone that Dwayne McDuffie is incapable of creatively adapting Grant Morrison's work to animation. In All Star Superman as in Justice League Crisis on Two Earths, it seems as though the deepest and most interesting themes of Grant Morrison's work have completely gone over the head of Dwayne McDuffie and his bosses.

But Crisis on Two Earths is not a JLA Earth 2 adaptation. Sure, it's inspired by it, but it is a separate, unrelated story. It was originally made to fit into the JL and JLU TV series. Made for kids and Cartoon Network. I'm impressed they had tried to do something even remotely like that. So of course it wasn't going to be the actual JLA Earth 2. It wasn't an adaptation. It was a separate story, influenced by it, to please older fans while still being rather safe for what they could do on the series, but didn't happen, so they made a movie out of the script instead. It's okay if you didn't like it, but saying they messed up an adaptation is faulty when it was actually more of an homage, a completely separate thing.

Yeah it looks like this film is going to be the equivalent of Zack Snyder's Watchmen. A bunch of fight scenes, and cool moments that's sort of faithful to the original book, but without any of the charm or core captured.
