Looks like DiDio picked one of the angry fanboys from the forums to sit ther. Big mistake.
Too much Batman stuff. He's becoming Deadpool. ugh.
Agreed. And when they bring up a Superman issue (Doomsday), he laughs it off. Funny that in the lead up to War of the Superman, a gang of Kryptonians beat him to death and we all know once Doomsday resurrects, he can't die the same way twice. We also know Luthor has him under his posession. Seems like a good enough topic to laugh at. So pissed at the treatment Superman gets these days.
Doomsday is just a violent plot device, like the Anti-Monitor. I can do without him.
"Does anybody want to complain about Cassandra Cain and just get it over with?" DiDio joked. Several fans did. "She's waiting outside the Batcave for a memorial for the Spoiler," DiDio said
What do that even mean?
And looking for the right tone for Blue Beetle?
his first serie was perfect! untill the new writer started killing the suporthing cast...I dont even want the last trade.
An Atom ongoing by Lemire? I'm all over that.
Also glad that Spencer's Jimmy Olsen is getting a proper conclusion.
"A bigger role for "R.E.B.E.L.S." in the DCU? Lee: "Why not?""
Hmm... Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
Wow, a teenage girl who is a comic fan? It's a sign of the apocalypse (or a dream come true - if you are reading this, "young girl," I'm 17 and sing/play bass in a rock 'n' roll band. Think about it).
Seriously though, some interesting announcements. Giffen as the new permanent Outsiders artist? A Xombi series? Sweet!
A new Xombie comic
New Xombie
oh yeah it looks like 2011 is going to be a good year![]()
Yeah, I hear a lot that Didio is a nice guy at cons but some of these answers? I dunno. Classless. The Lian Harper one especially. He knows very well who Lian is, the internet is still exploding from it and they were questioned about her "fridging" (that very term) at San Diego.
Then there's the Ralph and Sue question. "What about Ralph and Sue?" A good level of applause followed. "You know, we come to these panels year after year, what we hear is, 'why can't characters stay dead?" DiDio said. "This is our gift to you.". That's like flipping someone off IMO. It's a serious question, especially since DC made a big deal about making them ghosts in 52 and they were used as such in the very thing Mr. Co-Publisher is writing right now - Outsiders.
And what is with the dig at Cassandra Cain, especially since he obviously knows there was going to be a question about her and that she has a large fanbase so what does he do? Get a little dig at her fans (the Spoiler Memorial comments was about echoing about how Didio and Bill Willingham and others used to mock fans who asked about when Steph as Robin was going to get a memorial in the Bat-Cave after she "died" like Jason - so I took this as mocking Cassandra Cain fans -off the bat no less). It doesn't help that he says at the same time that Jamie Reyes/Blue Beetle, a character whose book was cancelled with lower numbers than even Beechan's derided (and deemed a failure Cass Batgirl mini) is going to get another big push.
Does insulting the hard-core readers/buyers of of their material really work?
