    ....really pretty pencils.

Archangel decapitates Fantomax and eviscerates Deadpool? Looks like some fans got their wish --- temporarily anyway.

It's probably a dream sequence, yeah.

Although in that one panel.. Holocaust's alive? I haven't seen him since he got snorted up King Hyperion's nose!

Unless... this is finally the debut of his 616-universe counterpart. It was never revealed who the AoA character was based off of...

Psylocke is a high-leveled telepath, intellect and stealthy ninja.
It almost sounds like this interview has retconned Psylocke's omeganess.

    I enjoyed the first issue.

Still bummed that Domino is not in the book. She even more the Warren made since to stick with the team. Hopefully she joins the main team then. Or maybe New Mutants, though that seems awkward if them plus her and not called X-Force.

Domino is not very important to me. Domino regularly appeared in Fraction's Punisher before Remender took over. He got rid of her then, too. He doesn't care for her.

X-Force must fail in killing the boy so that I can get a chance to see more of that bad ass full grown Apocalypse at the bottom of the page.

I've been looking forward to this first issue. I enjoyed it. And I plan on picking up the next couple issues, the first story arc at least.

But after reading the interview, I'm nervous. I did not know this was the guy who wrote FrankenCastle. Boy oh boy, that worries me more than anything. His dismissive attitude toward the absent former members kind of ticks me off, too. I don't know how much of the roster was his decision or editors/Marvel/Disney, but characters like Domino, Vanisher, Elixer and Warpath were a big part of why I fell in love with X-Force. To be honest, I didn't care about any of those characters before X-Force. I only started reading it because of Archangel. Most of X-Force I saw as just odd filler, but over the course of the run I developed an appreciation for those characters. And now I see them as some of the most interesting and potential-filled characters in the x-universe.

Now, change is natural, I'm okay with that. When I saw the first picture of the new line-up, I got geek happy. I knew some of the old members wouldn't be on the team but I was hoping they'd at least address those missing members, jump-on issue or not. I'm getting into spoilers territory, so I'll stop there. I just had some hope they would show up in the future. After the first issue and that interview, I'm not so sure. Sadface.

The teams bizarre chemistry is what made the team so interesting to me in the first place, its one of the main elements that kept me coming back. I'm not seeing that same chemistry here. In fact, in that interview, the only real explanation for why those particular characters are together is they were all messed with by bad guys in their history. I know that's not the whole of it, I'm seeing character-driven subplots pop up just in the first issue, but it all seems convenient. Warren and Betsy? Obvious. Wolverine and Fantomex of Weapon Plus fame? Obvious. Deadpool? Well, with X-Force being what it is, a pressure valve is needed to keep everyone grounded. Elixers inexperienced naive perspective and, at times, Vanishers unapologetic selfish perspective, provided that in the first series. It kept everyone on their toes, kept them from becoming simple 2D vigilantes. Having Deadpool fills that same roll with the new X-Force. Comic relief? Relief, yes, with bulletttssss, but again... the easy obvious predictable solution.

I'm going to giving it a chance. I know you can only say so much in an interview, I'm sure there's much more planned he couldn't talk or even hint about, so I'm most likely just complaining for no reason. I just really loved the first series, as well as Sex & Violence, and hope this new series doesn't fizzle out after the initial hype.

I like good stories, not gimmicks. That being said, I'm going to be reading an X-Force written by the fella who brought us...

.... Frankencastle. I'm not complaining, I'm just sayin!

    Okay, I'm gonna stop now.

Where's a wheelbarrow so I can give Rememder my hard-earned cash now?

Rick, you have Stryfe take on Holocaust and I'll die a happy product of the 90's.
