    Default I want 3 X-titles, must choose 2!!!

So, I'm re-entering my hobby of comic reading. I've been reading comics for the past 20 years since I was 6 or 7. The past few years I've sorta been reading on and off, but now I plan to go back to being the dedicate, monthly buyer fan I used to be.

My dilemma are which X-titles to read on a monthly basis. I'm definitely going to read the new X-Force, but I'm torn between Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, and Wolverine. All things considered - story, art, characters, broad scope of the book (i.e. X-Men supposed to be about their relation w/ the public/world? And Uncanny is more X-Men centric, right? And the classic X-title)

I've read the last 3 issues of Uncanny X-men and the first 3 issues of the new X-Men run and Wolverine #1. I know Wolverine hasn't yet fully developed and probably deserves more time before deciding, but oh well!!!

Why not just pick all 3, you ask? Well, a couple reasons. I like to limit myself to which comics I regularly read on a monthly basis. I'm picking 4 titles this time around and have Secret Avengers and Uncanny X-Force decided for me. Also, I'm not sure I can take 4 titles w/ Wolverine...I love the guy, but still, it may be Wolvie overload.

Thanks for any and all input!

At the moment I would say go for Wolverine and Daken, skip X Men and Uncanny.

Or back issues would also be a good idea.

    Jason Aaron's Wolverine.
This just in: Chris Sprouse has pulled out of Orson Scott Card.

Well, if you are Wolvied out then the answer is easy, Uncanny and X-Men.

Buy Wolverine now...it seems to be a solid book. Its been re-numbered back to 1, try to pick it up and Wolverine 2. Wolverine 2 was out either last week or this week i think...

Buy Uncanny X-men 531 in December. Its the flagship title. The current writer Matt Fraction will be joining up with Kieron Gillen. Thats probably a good jumping on point for a first time reader.

Not sure I can reccommend 2 out of those choices. Maybe just Xmen

Try X-Factor! Fun mutant shenanigans! Good art, good writing, witty dialogue. You can get your mutant fix that way without sifting through Uncanny, which can be frustrating at times.

Right now I'd say Uncanny X-Force, Wolvie, X-23 and maybe Daken.

X factor and X Men Legacy. Uncanny is poor and X men is boring.

Honestly, probably a good idea. Matt Fraction's Uncanny X-Men run has pretty much been shot in the foot by crossovers, strings of interchanging bad artists (Terry and Rachel Dodson and Greg Land) currently Whilce Portacio is the artist, but damn, he's nowhere near the top of his game. Emma's has Muscle growth, Kitty looks like she's pushing 40, and half the any human featured in the book has serious physical deformities, and it is NOT intentional.

I'd just go with the Wolverine Book written by Aaron, he seems to be the go-to-guy for great Logan solo-adventure stories.

Not such a good idea unless you actually sit down and do some intense and extensive internet research on EVERYTHING that has happened since 2000, and especially Grant Morrison's New X-Men series.

Bad idea, it had nothing you'd be interested in, it's not important to the X-family books, and Peter Alan David has been quoted, by fans too, that X-Factor is NOT an X-Book anymore.

The team is Siren, Multiple Man, Monet, Darwin, Longshot, Shatterstar, Rictor, Wolfsbane, Strongguy, and Layla Miller.

Note: Layla Miller is now an adult and probably evil. Rahne is pregnant from the Wolf Prince from that sub-plot in X-Force, but she lied to Rictor about the baby's father.(when she busted in on Rictor getting ready to have sex with Shatterstar [yes, you read that correctly, Shatterstar and Rictor are openly gay and make out])

^Listen to Chickrockguitar, she's seems to be on the same wave length as the original poster, solid recommendation.

Again, I don't think he's looking for the kind of stuff in X-Factor (Not an X-book by the way*) and X-Men Legacy is Rogue teaming up with whoever Mike Carey wants her to team up with, usually Magneto, and two or three younger mutants.

    1. That book is crap.

    2. The real Darkstar is dead, as Fantomex put a bullet through her empty head.

    3. The team leader should be the Talking Russian Werebear, that's money in the bag right there!
