"Hypertension" was the best Superboy story of all time, so much fun and the best use of the Multiverse outside of Grant Morrison in the Post-Crisis DCU.

How good was the first issue of Lemire's Superboy? It was very good. I see enormous potential for Pier Gallos's art and the colouring is just beautiful. They even called up some tactile telekinesis baby! Consider it pulled. Between B&R 16 and Superboy 1, this has been a satisfying week of comics.
Also, there was a thing at the back hinting at new storylines. A teamup(?) with Poison Ivy, a race against Bart, another team of weird Titans including a couple of Doom Patrol members and... Pre-Crisis Earth 2 Dick Grayson (? :P) and also Conner meeting young Clark.

Brandon Vietti made a comment in regards to Kon's original outfit showing up in the show.
I'm guessing they'll show it as an object of mockery or something. We do have plans for the 90's style costume. But I'm not spilling any more details about that here. You'll just have to tune in.
Okay, so as of Superboy #1, it looks like Conner and Simon Valentine are best friends. In Adventure Comics, Tellus predicted that Simon would 'be his greatest friend or his greatest enemy'. In Superboy #1 he pretty much said that he had figured out Conner's identity. All of this seems a little quick for a new character. Do you guys think Simon should keep his place as Superboy's pal or have a more natural progression for their friendship?
I'd keep my eye on that Simon Valentine. Too eager. Something not quite right about him, if you get my meaning. He's probably DeSaad or a Royal Flusher.
From the Golden Age of comics, the film short they don't want you to see... WONDER BOY LIVES!
I'm glad to see Superboy in his own series again and I really liked the first two issues for the most part. I look forward to reading more about him and seeing which characters are introduced throughout the series, as well as seeing the various trials and tribulations that Superboy has to face.
The Simon character seems to have potential, but I really don't want him to end up being Conner's Lex Luthor. I would love it if they made him the nerdy sidekick who stays good. I would make him smart like Luthor, but good natured like Jimmy Olsen.
While I like that Conner is in Smallville, I hope that as the series continues on, he will have stories all across the DC earth and universe, encountering a variety of characters, both good and bad.
Also, how do you all feel about Conner's relationship with Wonder Girl? Would you like them to stay together, or would you like to see him with someone else, and if you would, who would you suggest? I have to admit that I liked that scene from Henderson's TT run where Aquagirl and Superboy talk by the pool. I know it was really brief and I'm probably looking too much into it, but I wouldn't mind seeing the two of them interact more. I'm not saying I want them to be an official couple, but maybe the two of them can have a relationship similar to Superman and Wonder Woman, where they become really good friends and people assume that they have hidden feelings for one another, but its never really looked into.

me so stupid. i didn't see this thread and started a superboy thread of my own. how silly of me.
anywho, the first two issues were very satisfying, and i'm glad it's set in smallville. as for simon, i have a feeling that one of his inventions will end up controlling him, and that conner will have to save him. conner will have to keep an eye on him.

I like Simon, so I really hope that they don't eventually make him to be Superboy's Lex Luthor. I like the idea of him being the nerdy friend and sometime sidekick who manages to occasionally help save the day despite being outclassed in terms of power, simply because he is really smart.

Superboy got nominated for an Eisner Award for Best New Series!
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
Anyone read Superman #712? I loved it. I hope they print it in a Superboy TPB though and not Superman.

I'm upset that the t-shirt and jeans Superboy is gone, but this new interpretation of the character seems interesting and I look forward to seeing what writers have in store for Superboy.
I really hope that Superboy is given a great Rogues Gallery with villains that incorporate his ties to Superman and the Teen Titans along with other villains that are separate from Superman and the Teen Titans.
I do like the idea of him being a living weapon, but I still want depth and characterization for him. I also really hope that the Ms. Martian & Superboy romance from the YJ cartoon doesn't carry over into the comics. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of it. Actually, I'm not a fan of how its portrayed on the cartoon, so if the comic writers can portray it in a less annoying way then I will be all for it.
Here's to you Superboy!
