I was so looking forward to this game... until I realized this MMORPG (which genre I have never played before) actually requires a $15 month online service fee.
I'm not that hardcore a gamer that is going to spend months (and $15 per) playing 1 video game.
The thing that puzzles me about this game is... isn't there gonna be like, thousands and thousands of Batmans running around the place?
Or can you create your own character??
Understandable. I see it like this though. If you go the movies once a month or do something once a month that adds up to say $10 then factor in the cost of gas to get you to and from you actually end up getting a better value out of MMORPG I think. You don't even have to play everyday. Even if one were to play on the weekends only, some do, you still I think end up getting your $15 worth compared to other activities. Two hours at a movie with some popcorn compared to being able to play 7 hours a week if you just play one hour a day.
For a while when I was younger I didn't think I could justify the price until I started looking at things this way. Also helped finally convince my parents to let me try Everquest 1 at the time. Even now it's worth it as a I don't go to bars on the weekends or anything like that. I'd be out a LOT more money if I did that. Still paying extra after initially buying the game I can still see being an issue for some just on the face of it. Totally understand as well.
That spring 2011 date is wrong. The game comes out this November 2nd, 2010 on both PC and PS3.
