Default CBR: Johns Brings Larfleeze For Christmas

The avarice-inspired Orange Lantern Larfleeze earns his long-expected Christmas one-shot this December courtesy of Geoff Johns and Brett Booth, which is one of a pair of Green Lantern specials on tap for the holidays.

    Aw yeah!
Fingers crossed this is good, then might encourage DC to take more risks with one-shots.

Forget heat vision, DCU Santa singlehandedly delivered a lump of coal to Darkseid each year. At the minimum he's at the level of a fifth dimensional imp.
The Silver Age is roughly 1954-1971.
The Bronze Age is roughly 1971-1986.

The nineties are not the Bronze Age!

I wonder if it's going to be a single story (as opposed to a collection of Christmas stories) and if it's going to be canon.

The only real DC Christmas special is the Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special.

    MUST BUY!!!

I'm not a DCU proper fan, rather I buy books under DC's Vertigo and Wildstorm imprints.

*I buy the Ex Machina HCs, which are under the Wildstorm imprint.

    Point is, this. IS. EPIC!!!

I have a Beast (Henry McCoy-MU) Santa Claus Christmas Special, and now a Larfleeze Christmas Special on the way, THERE IS A GOD!!!

I haven't paid attention to much of the Blackest Night or Brightest Day, but what I did read usually involved Larfleeze and Christ on a bike was he entertaining.

Also, this cover it legendary, Larfleeze has a bottle of Krytal and an AK-47, all while sporting a Santa hat, this is made of win! All that's left is for Larfleeze to get piss drunk and face punch Hal Jordan in this issue!

While he's wearing reindeer antlers! This looks hilarious.

Totally going to pick up both of these one shots. Hope Wolfman writes a good Plas.

Don't get me wrong, this is cool and all and I'll be picking this up, but I hope that Johns doesn't turn Larfleeze into just a comic relief character. When he first appeared, Larfleeze was actually quite a menacing being, now he seems rather harmless. Plus, his craving for things is much more comical now, whereas it used to be like an addiction.

...and it's not that I hate "fun", but there's a limit to everything.
    I. AM. THE. NEW. GOD.
Across countless worlds, for countless eons, not a voice is raised in hope or joy.
Across these worlds, these infinite lands throughout the cosmos, there is only Darkseid.

I tend to agree, actually. Larfleeze can be funny because of his sheer excess, but Johns needs to take a few moments to remind everyone how dangerous he can be.

I kind of suspect the hints Johns has been dropping about Larfleeze's family will lead to something like this.
